in youtube search for DX7 vs DX7SE response test... it shows the diff between 22ms and 11ms frame rate... will not see it with naked eye but when slowed down... there is noticeable diff...

Yes, one is twice as fast but I guarantee that the average beginner flying a trainer, a typical sport pilot, warbird pilot, etc. will never, ever notice the difference. It might come into play in high level competition but not for general flying.
I've seen excellent pilots with a beat up old Futaba 72mHz 4-channel from the 90's outfly someone with the latest and greatest in radio gear.
For anyone just starting in RC, I wouldn't worry much about this sort of stuff.

Reading this post I just remembered something that happened a few years ago: I was waiting for a tennis court to free up in my neighborhood, right behind an older gentlemen with a very old old Aluminum racket from the 80's. He was playing a much younger guy with the latest gear, and it was hilarious to see how with his beat up racket he was serisouly kicking the younger guy's a**.
If you're a pro it may matter, but if not, and if "you will not see it with naked eye", then chances are you won't see it when you fly either.

Oops, I missed the post about you already having bought one. Obviously, if you are in the market for a transmitter then you might as well get the most updated technology, I would definitely have done the same thing! My argument was that I didn't see a need to upgrade to one if you didn't really need a Tx.
Congrats on the new purchase, I have a regular DX7 and love it. I am sure you'll enjoy yours as well.

well at least with the older slower gear you can always claim to be flying ahead of the crash ..but the tech just wouldn't keep up...Sometimes a good excuse is not a bad thing !
Now if you could just find away to keep your mind from doing the SIDEWALK DANCE when you get into a REAL tightspot !

Keep in mind a couple of things.
1. The SE has no trainer port so it can't be used to buddy box or sim.
2. The 2048 and 11ms resolution only works with receievers that support it which isn't all of them so depending on the reciever you're using you might not even get the faster speed.
