Default New Jersey snow

Well, folks, we got hit pretty hard in the past 24 hours. I don't imagine that even the best of us could get out to the field to do snow flying after this snow fall. And, the cold is supposed to stick around for at least another week, so no melting is forecasted.

Even if we could fly off of the top of this stuff, we could never get out to the field!!! I measured an unofficial 2 feet in front of my townhouse late this afternoon. But, I must say, between the county, the township, and the homeowners association, the roads are clear. Amazing!!!

Pictures below.

It'd better thaw, I'll be there June 22nd through July 2nd and I plan on hitting the beech in my speedo.

I'm glad Igot some flying in on Thursday and Friday. It could take a while for the field to dry out again.

ChuckW, be careful where you go in NJ in your speedo. I was stationed in Cape May from 2002 to 2006 and it is actually against the law to wear a speedo on the beach, in addition to fires, frisbees, kite flying, smoking, booze (the list goes on and on) and fun in general .

I think we got at least 32 inches here in Maryland. I have personally never seen this much snow in the area. The piles of snow from shoveling and plowing are up to 6+ feet. Wish I had my foamies with me!

I was just kidding about the speedo. Nobody anywhere wants to see that.... trust me.

Manfred, that's what you would get if it was wee bit colder during May or June where you are since that's about the only time I ever saw any kind of precipitation while I was in SD. You just don't have enough global warming down there.

2 feet huh? I know it's alot of snow for down there, but do what we do. Up here you can get that much of lake effect snow daily so strap on a set of skiis and go for it!! Dress warm and enjoy.

Will

PS It was not easy for this Florida boy to get used to snow!

Get out your float planes and pull off the water rudder, best flying you'll have in a long time.
Enjoy!

Hey, where's the sunny beaches, palm tress, bikini-clad girls an celebrities? It's CA after all right? There was supposed to be another 2-4 feet in the hills around here the past couple days as well. Glad I'm down here where it's just rain.
