I moved south to get away from global warming. Tomorrow we're supposed to get another eight inches of it. Down here, that kind of snow paralyzes things because there is no global warming removal equipment except the sun and 35+ temps. If we get it, it will be our third since the first of the year. The first one had me home bound for four days, the second for five days. Only one more state between me and the Gulf of Mexico. Wonder if they have global warming there?

I dont know which is worse. Yalls global warming, or the incessant rain we have had this winter. Seems like we have had no more that 2 days a week of sunshine since November. The next 2 days have a 100% chance of rain in the forecast. Temps in the 40's. I usually like to brag about the year round golf/fishin/flyin we have down here. But this has been a winter for the record books. Oh ya, we got 1/2 in of global warming back before Christmas. At least I know spring is only a matter of a few weeks away. By then my Tiger will be ready for maiden And I will be lookin to sneak in my next build past the wife. No honey, this isnt a new plane. This is the same one Ive been workin on all winter.

I used to live in Long Valley, NJ. I do not miss the snow one bit. I have only been here a year and a half and i am already used to the warmer climate. Sorry northerners, you can keep all the snow stuff to yourselves

Now that I live in FL, we call this snowbird season. Come on down, the pool is a balmy 57 degrees! [sm=drowning.gif] (Compared to your frozen stuff, that's down right warm!)

How are Snooki and the ''Situation'' holding up ?
How are Snooki and the ''Situation'' holding up ?

My wife is Italian, from southeast PA and some of here family is in NJ. Ever since I heard about that show I've been putting it on and giving her a hard time. Right now I'm trying to find a t-shirt that has the Cadillac emblem thing with the Italian flag and NJ map in the middle. I wanted to give it to her on Valentine's day as a little joke but it doesn't look like its going to happen.
She keeps threatening to rent a copy of "Deliverance" or a box set of "Hee-haw" DVD's to play and make fun of my heritage.

Well, Pillzee, it's been raining now for the past few hours. It's made the roads passable here in the southern part of the state. But, and there is always a but, they weather people say that by noon, we'll be back in blizzard conditions. Blah.
But, I've heard that you guys in NC get your share of snow on occasion, so don't be so smug..
just kidding... you can be as smug as you wish...
We've had several winters where we got very little snow, which is fine with me. We're just getting our pay-back by good old Ma-nature, that's all.

More later, I'm sure.

I hope that everybody out east stays safe and warm through the storms.
Here's what we faced 2 weeks ago. I'd much rather take 24" of snow than the 1/2"of ice that we got. This whole area now looks like a war zone with trees and power poles down everywhere. Almost 2 weeks and there are still area towns that don't have power!!!!

Well, Ken, I gotta agree with you. Ice storms are not fun at all. We went through one back in 1995 that was really bad. We got a spell of cold weather (sub zero in fact), and then some warming followed by rain followed by more cold. And, yeah, all that rain froze just like it did with you guys out in OK. Nasty stuff.
I went to Portsmouth, NH for work one week, we drove up. ON the way back, we were on the edges of a real nasty storm that was dropping snow pretty heavily. We decided to stop northwest of New York City, oh about 50 or so miles out of town. We stayed at a hotel that had a long sloping driveway and a large parking lot out back.
In the morning, I went out to the van and saw that the van was completely covered in a layer of ice about a quarter inch thick. It looked neat, but I wasn't sure if we were going to be able to do anything for a while. Well, I thumped the side of the van with my fist and the ice fell off like someone dropped a curtain or something. It all just shattered and fell to the ground. Pretty neat. Ok, now we had to get out of that parking lot, which, as I said, was sloping.. in this case, because we climbed up the slope to get in, we now had to navigate it down to get out.
I had one of the guys walk.. slide.. down the slope to watch for incoming traffic. I backed out of the parking place, and started forward. Well, the van slid down the slope, and as it turns out, the slope had a slight angle to the right which was something like that of a raceway, so the van followed the slope and slowly slid down the drive and to to the road and stopped. Wphew. We managed to drive home after that but the drive was pretty bad along the highway. What a mess.. and that was an ice storm along the coast where inland, it was mostly snow.
It's still raining, but more heavily now. And, this is supposed to turn to snow soon. It will be quite a mess, that's for sure.
