need help with radio

i picked up this 6ch radio last summer. this summer i would like to build a 4ch electric plane.
1st question, can i do that with this radio?
2nd question, i see a port on the back, is this to program the radio....or to use it as a simulator?
i know that one of the top toggle switches(6ch i think) is broken. i pluged in some servos, and they move, the thottle lever will move 2 different servos at the same time and the elevator lever will move the same servo that the throttle lever will. this is why im wondering if the port on the back is for programing and maybe it has some weird mixing setting i dont understand.

The ccpm on the module on the back of the radio signifies that it (the radio) is set up for helicopter use. The port on the back appears to be an old Futaba style trainer cord port, though it's hard to tell for sure as the picture is a little fuzzy.
The reason the throttle moves two servos is that as a heli throttles up, it also applies pitch to the blades.
I would see what happens if you remove that module on the back of the radio.

thats what i was afraid of.
i tried removing the module on the back....it has the Tx crystal in it, so removing it makes the radio not transmit. oh well, i only paid $10 for it. it was worth a shot.
im gonna get the dynam radio sim off ebay soon. its only $30, so it should be worth it. then ill figure out what is a inexpensive/decent 4ch radio i can get to build my plane with.
oh, i have a blade mcx 2.4g. can i get another reciever that will bind to the blade mcx's transmitter? the blade mcx is a coaxial heli, and the controls feel the same as i would think a 4ch plane would.

Does flipping the switches, or turning the knob, affect the throttle/elevator coupling?
Or, maybe there's a switch inside the battery compartment to turn it off? I'd play around with it a little.

i checked, no swithes in the battery compartment. would this type of radio have had more than one kind of module? I.E. a plane and a heli module?
i can get 5 of the channels to make my servos move. i think the 6th was on the toggle switch which broke.
dont suppos anyone can still use this for a 4ch heli could they?

I guess that's possible. The "mixing" could be in the module. I've never seen that brand so I have no idea how hard it would be to find a different module. I definitely wouldn't spend any money on it.
I'd either toss it and cut my loss at $10 or advertise it in the RCU marketplace and see if someone wants it. Individual ads are free so it only costs your time to post the ad.

No there is no mixing within the module.
This is a dedicated HELI radio included with low cost helis, that often don't last more than a few seconds ( the helis that is...) .
