Nice thing about S & W, he will make any blend you want. syn., castor, nitro, you name it. Not only that, it is fresh fuel. We will buy another drum about mid-way through the season.

Just out of curiosity, how much did it cost to ship the fuel (are you talking about 55 gal. drums? ) from Tatamy Pa. to Michigan?

Last year, a friend and I drove down and picked some up...we got a couple of 55 gal drums...cost was less than 10. per gal.

GB Powermaster has been gone for a while now. The pylon venues where powermaster was the provided fuel have all gone to alternatives and I am sure that last big sale from Hobby People was to clearout stock for whatever their replacement will be but I,am betting it won,t be as good a deal as PM has been in the past.

I am fortunate in that I live only about 2 hour's drive from the S&W factory. Every year someone from our club drives up and brings back fuel for our members. Stan (the owner) will blend fuel to your specifications and is a really nice guy. He told me that the gallon jugs and boxes cost him plenty. So I can see how buying fuel in 55 gal drums could be a big savings. He would save the labor of having to fill, label and pack each gallon and the cost of the bottles and boxes.

I was told it was a problem with the EPA in Calif. and something to do with the cans?? Lack of?? Do you have any facts on it John?? Last sale they were only selling the red caped fuel for the sale price?? The old white caped cans were full price?? If it isn't one thing it's another!!

GB I have no facts other than no one has been able to buy it for a while and most of the rulebook pylon events where PM has been the standard fuel provided provided by the promoters has already gone to alternatives.

I'm guessing that the total cost, which included shipping was 490.00 what ever it was it worked out to a little over 9.00 gal. that was shipped to Michigan.

Litchfield...that's not far from Grand Rapids, correct? (my parents were from Michigan...dad from G.R. )

Late summer of last year when I ordered our fuel, Stan mentioned that he'd recently shipped some to Michigan...maybe it was you guys?

probably was. One of our club members knows him quite well. Good fuel. All the members that got some has really liked it. I was just in Grand Rapids yesterday. Really went to Grand Haven but then went to GR as well. Nice day yesterday. I'm traveling and all the other guys are flying. Something wrong with that picture. Have a great day.

Just got an e-mail from the LHS . for this years fuel buy. Omega 15% is $16.99 gallon , case price.
I do not care for 2 strokes , no matter if it' a weed whacker or what ever,{ Well O.K ,I likemy 64 Vespa} ,but I like flying the bigger planes and when you get up in the bigger glows , it's like flushing a toilet.
I have been looking at the new gasSaito's , The 1.20 size is spendy but if you fly alot it would pay for it's self pretty quick. or thats the line I'm using on the wife. I'll hit her with a bill for the 6 cases of glow fuel first, just to soften her up lol.

You don't like Gassers??? All but one of my glows is a four stroke but I tend to go gas as soon as I need anything bigger then a 1.20. With the fuel cost and the cost of the engines, going gas is just one of the things i do. After I found out about not being able to get Power Master fuel any longer I went out and started converting one of my planes over to a 1.40 gasser. I figure the rest of the fuel companies will be raising there prices? One of my LHS sells the Omega 15% for $14.00 a gallon, let's see how long that lasts now!!
