Nothing like Coverite fabric. Just the stupid price. I have it on my big SeaMaster 120. Had to mortage the farm to pay for the covering.

Oh really.... So ball park figure, how much does it actually cost to recover a plane?

I was figuring at least 40 bucks, how the hell do they sell an ARF for so cheap!! no wonder kits are becoming the norm.

( I know how they sell for cheap, look at the Walmart setup, buy lots, then reduced cost of each item.. so on so forth.)

I guess on the average trainer, probably 2 or 2 1/2 rolls. If you cut the covering right so you get the max from each roll.

I dont remember what a package of Koverall costs.  Its not alot.  But you have to add in the cost of the adhesive, the sealant, the paint.  If cost is a factor I am betting the plastic films are the way to go.  The fabrics (i think) probably go on  alot faster also.  I use the fabric because I prefer to paint my own.

Covering is not cheap. Some of the ARF factories use film covering that is not Monokote or Ultracote to save money.
Even the ones who do use the "name brands" probably get a huge discount for buying a lot.

You'll probably need 2 rolls of your primary color and 1 roll of a contrasting color.
at www.greathobbies.com
-Ultracote is 18.99 to 24.99 per roll
-Monokote is 14.99 to 19.99 per roll
-Worldtex fabric covering is 27.99 per roll

Ya, I guess at 6'x26" you have to cover the body and wing, both lengths are quite long. Sorry but the plane is still stowed for the winter, I am estimating. Ya, 2 rolls just for base, then a roll for all paterns and such as long as not too elaborate.

I think my nexstar is going to become olive drab, but still thinking about something that will make folks go wow!

As in Digital Camo like the new army uniforms?

That would be neat, unfortunately all coverings come in 1 shade of color only, they are not very detailed unfortunately due to manufacturing costs to deal with all the different colors and patterns.

I don't think I would like that idea a whole lot to advocate for it. It would be a lot of work cutting out a 2x2 cm square and pasting on every piece individually using a pattern of about 3-4 colors. Alot of work...
