Default I didn't know I could do that

I just purchased a tool box, similar to a gun case, for carrying 2 xmtrs to the field.
I was trying to figure out how to cut the foam rubber to fit to protect the xmtrs and look professional.
A razor blade and scissors weren't getting it.
I thought about the band saw and thought "Nah, it'll just tear up the foam"
Then, since I had plenty of foam, I decided to try it.
Cuts like butter! The project came out awesome.
My Optic 6 has two very long narrow switches sticking out the top.
I could cut two slots 1/8" wide for the switches.

Just sharing my experience and something going right for a change.

Good Luck,

Cool.

The two boxes I have came with perforated foam squares that pulls apart to form the shape of the transmitters.

Its amazing what trial and error, mixed with experimenting will get you. Sometimes when I have spare glue I have built things to test break, see what holds, what doesn't.

Thank-You for sharing.
I refer to the hobby room (the whole basement) as the R & D Lab. My wife calls it the Dungeon!

How cool is that?? I never gave it any thought, even if I did I would have thought it would tear the foam apart. I will have to give that a try. Thanks for the tip!!

I bought one of those boxes, the first time I brought the wrong transmitter to the field, I gave it to a friend...he did the exact same thing and brought it back to me....Rog

Well, just because I have a brand new bandsaw I'll have to try it out on foam. Never thought about this one.
