Hey goirish,

I thought that snake was Baby Cobra, but I was told it was an adder as I described it to my sis in law, she said I'd have run him over, but I let him go. I guess that's the best pix I could get. Well, now I know that the new flying field I go is full of snakes as this flying field in Magnolia is under development.

I could not fly this Sunday[][:@] cos of wind gusts. This Sunday seems to be perfect

Happy flying ya'll

Mody

If it is any kind of a snake-I ain't interested. I don't know the harmless ones from the one's that are not. So I leave them all alone. I am just learning 3-D Only problem is I am so high that I can't see the stupid plane. 3 mistakes high, nah,,,,, maybe 10.

A horror scenario: Picture yourself totally engrossed flying your RC plane, eyes glued to the plane up in the sky... suddenly a snake crawls up you legs!!! Yikes, I don't want to think about it!!

Reminds me, Last year a guy and the field had a bee fly into his shirt! He's allergic to them, yep, plane crashed.

If a snake crawled up my leg, all you would have to do is call the funeral home.

Whatever ends up crawling up my legs, the plane is going to crash.

A 40 size plane no longer requires a 40 engine. Now you need 50.
A 60 is no longer a large plane.
A 6 Ch. radio is no longer Big.
No one enjoys building the first plane.
And the people that never flew, Know much more than I.
All true! and if you have anymore ????? just ask me because I am farely new to this hobby!

Another one is: I lot of people don't distinguish between fact and their own opinions.

"Need" has been replaced with "want." Even here in the Beginner forum, people are constantly told to avoid engines like the OS LA and Thunder Tiger GP series and get a 46 to 55 ball bearing engine for their first 40 size trainer. "You can always throttle back" is the phrase used all the time.
A 60 is no longer a large plane.
I guess that's true but 60 size is my limit and my preference.
A 6 Ch. radio is no longer Big.
My brother and I use a 9C, but not for the extra channels. It has more model memory and the trainer system is customizable so it works better for us than connecting two 6-channel units.
No one enjoys building the first plane.
My third plane was a kit built trainer. It took me almost a year to build it. If there were no ARF trainers I would not be in the hobby.
And the people that never flew, Know much more than I.
I know more than some, less than many, and still have a heck of a lot to learn.

16MB of RAM is no longer enough.

A 60 is no longer a large plane.
A 486 is no longer a fast processor

A 6 Ch. radio is no longer Big.
Neither is a 20mb hard drive

No one enjoys building the first plane.
Or their first PC

So far I am staying in the 40 size range, but for some reason, 2-stroke engines are not good enough anymore, I am getting 4-strokes now. Maybe I'm getting spoiled.

He does have allot of good points, I was just kidding a little! All my 40 size do have a 45 or better but that is because I fly at 7000 ft and the extra power is needed! I even have a couple sixty's on some forty size. A sixty size plane is just about my limit because of the size of my shop and hauler. but even some of my sixty's have ninety's on them. I do love to build but do take the fast way out with an ARF. I tend to buy Arf's in the spring and summer and kits in the fall and winter! I am learning but need to learn allot more, and know I will be in this hobby as long as my health will let me! I love this hobby and know that I will someday when have more space will go a bit larger and all gas due to the price of glow fuel, but am loving they are building smaller gas engines for smaller planes!

If anything crawls up on my leg, I'm gonna hand my Radio to the fellow flyer. I ain't gonna get anything get me. I'm gonna take some pictures of the under-development flying field in Magnolia and post it over here. I'm also moving to Magnolia end of June this year. So that's my field from now on. I don't know how many other animals I'm gonna come across

Just for the record, i used/owned/coded on/built every one of those things you mention. Like, i suspect, the OP, I wasn't listing the oldest things I'm familiar with

Yep, me too. Assembly and Hex code, I don't miss it at all. I even used punch cards with Fortran.

To build or buy? When you want to modify, sometimes building makes sense

I crashed my ARF and built a kit. I crashed my kit and fused it to my ARF.

Is the result am Arfkit or a Kitarf?

...and yes, a 40 needs a 55, even if it's a trainer. Go OS!
