Default HobbyKing Orders

Im sure many of you have ordered from HobbyKing but for me I have placed my first two orders through them. My account I have with them shows both orders as "Processing". All parts Ihave ordered are in stock and I payed with my card so payment has been taken care of. So why does it still say "Processing"? Those of you who have ordered from HobbyKing, do ytou typically have prompt service and delivery?

A typical order can sit for a week or so in "processing" status before it ships, assuming everything is in stock. Once it actually ships, International Mail orders typically arrive a couple of weeks after your order has been processed and shipped.

I buy a lot of stuff from Hobby King, but never anything that I need this month.

So I guess when ordering from them I will just have to try and keep my patients...lol. For some reason I figured it would probably say "Processing" until I got it. That does kind of suck though because the stuff I ordered from them I only did so because Tower didnt have it which means if it keeps up like that I will have to place many more orders from HobbyKing and have to keep waiting. Other than Tower Hobbies are there other big US based companies that I could order from?

What is EMS? Is that just one of the shipping methods?

That's a pretty broad question... a lot depends on what you need and if you are locked in to a specific brand.
In addition to Tower I have purchased from:
http://www.hobbypeople.net
http://www.hobby-lobby.com
http://www.horizonhobby.com
http://www.cermark.com
http://www.advantagehobby.com
http://www.ehobbies.com
http://www.radicalrc.com
http://www.servocity.com
http://www.hangtimes.com
Some of these dealers are specialized and some have a broad selection.

I guess I'm the exception, my order from HobbyKing two weeks ago was sitting on my porch 4 days after I ordered it, from their USA warehouse. My last order from Horizon took 10 days to get here, although the previous order from them took less than a week. I always get good service from Tower.

Some items at Hobby King are marked " in US warehouse". Those, I presume, come quickly. You cannot mix an order with items from "in" and then "not in"

I noticed that the same holds true for a German warehouse, too. I always allow two or three weeks even if the items are in stock. I only choose the lowest cost postage selection. RG

You can also try:

http://www.thundertiger4u.com

http://www.infinitehobbies.com

http://www.kangkeusa.com

http://www.bj-model-engines.com/home.html

http://www.richmondrc.com

http://www.modelrectifier.com

http://www.bphobbies.com

http://www.allerc.com

http://www.enya-engine.com

The Enya engine website above is actually for the manufacturer's web site in Japan. They offer an English version, however, along with an online store. My average delivery time with standard shipping from them is 4 days from Tokyo to Omaha. Also, Enya engines are very kick ass, so you all should shop there.

also www.troybuiltmodels.com

www.hobbyzone.com

Wayne,
If you log into your account on Hobbyking, you can look at your order status and they will put a direct link to the China Post (post office) or EMS depending on your shipping method. Once the shipment status is set to departed Hong Kong, then you will lose track of it. It will be to you before it gets updated again because it is now in the posession of the USPS, which does not send tracking info back to EMS or China Post.

Also, it usually takes at least 48 hours between when you send your payment to when the order is filled and sent out.

Good Luck,
Curtis

Wayne,
I just saw this posted in the forums on HK's website. It looks like they just completed a move last week, so there was a backlog during that time and they are trying to get caught up now.

This is my third big order, I has been over one week sitting under "processing". I paid with credit card, and they have the money. In the past I got one order in one week all the way from China.

Let's see how long this one takes. I do not mid waiting, the prices were very very low, and I had great results with their Lipos...

Do they still only accept Pay-Pal for payment? Last time I looked they did not accept regular credit card payments. The only option was through Pay-Pal.

Thanks,
Oscar

They do accept credit card payments, but they add 2% to the total.

My order has been processing for two weeks. I don't have a problem with this, but if I'd know I would have purchased batteries through another vendor. I could have used them this coming week.

I have been a long time customer of Hobby King..... But last 2 orders have not went well.

About 6 months ago I ordered 21 HD 1501 servos, when my order arrived, they were Turnigy 1501 servos. After contacting the support they told me that they were the same servos with their OEM sticker on them.

On 3/24 I placed an order for a 26cc engine and some power connectors. On 3/31 I finally got in touch with their online support. They told me that they had moved their warehouse and that order were taking much longer. When I asked when my order would be shipped they told me that it would be another week. I asked to cancel the order and have my money refunded. They promised a refund within 1 day. It is now 7 days later and still no money. They no longer answer their support 800 number and their online support has been closed for the past 4 days.

I say buyers beware..... looks like HK are going back to their old BS that I used to hear about when they were called "United Hobbies" and then "Hobby City". Is it about time for them to change their name again? [:@]
