It's just more growing pains Willbilly. They seem to not be able to grow gracefully enough. Email [email protected] about cancelling your order & they should be able to refund it almost instantly.
HK as well as the rest of China was closed the 5th & 6th for another holiday. I'm retired and don't get as many holidays as they do in China.
Hobby City was ok until someone threatened to take them to court since city sounded too much like town so king it became.

As I stated in my last post, I did cancel my order on 3/31 and was promised a refund. I was told by their CS that it would be refunded in 1 day. It is now 7 days later and I finally received the refund, and that was only after I filed a PayPal complaint. I do not want to offend anyone, just want to share my latest experience. I have ordered many times from HK and have recommended them to several people. They definitely have prices that are hard to beat, even after you add the expensive shipping.

My only complaint is that they do not care about their customers, at least that is how I feel. I will more than likely order from them again, but not anytime soon.

I now only place orders with HobbyKing that I can patiently wait for up to 2 months to receive.
There are many other hobby providers who truly want and seek your business and prove it with service and action. Most of the American based mail order hobby suppliers will have somewhat higher prices, but the hobby is supposed to be fun and provide enjoyment...not frustration, for a small price I get back to the fun quickly "buy" American.
I hate to single out a good supplier as there are many...but try BP Hobbies http://www.bphobbies.com/view.asp?id=V815101 for a great buying experience. They will respond back via e-mail within 24 hrs that they have received your order, then follow it up with a shipping notice within the next 24 hrs at the latest and this is their normal service. I've been surprised by the speed at which something ordered actually reaches my doorstep, (I do not work for them or even know anyone who works there).

Another option that I have just tried (2 orders in the last month) is Himodel.com. I ordered a 2.4 ghz module and some receivers and got them within 5 days (calendar days) both times. They are located in Hong Kong and shipping under .5kg is $11 EMS. They also offer fedex and DHL as options. Their prices are a little higher than Hobbyking, but they have more things in stock that I want and they turn the order in under a day.

Curtis

Most of this discussion seems to deal with HobbyCity/HobbyKings warehouse upgrade period coupled with the yearly Chinese new year delays.

I also experienced long processing times due to all of this.

Two weeks ago ( as I post this ) I place a few orders several days apart.

The orders shipped out within 4-6 days each, and I received my shipments ( via EMS ) three or four days later.

This is not as quick as their prior 24 hour turnaround, but it is much better than before.

Jose,
You make a good point. What has been disappointing to me as Ron points out, as with the growing pains and the move, it seems like stock of their batteries (I assume their biggest draw) is really suffering. I have a wishlist of a few things that never seems to be stocked(Xt60 connectors, some batteries, etc.). Now I wonder if people are perpetually backordering things so it never looks like they have stock, but I don't want to get into the backorder problem they are known for.
Regards,
Curtis

I use their "e-mail" alerts to avoid the backorder problem...

e.g. I needed the out-of-stock HXT 4mm connector kits, and I received an e-mail yesterday that they were back in stock...

I already ordered 10 packs...

Just a little update on my side here. I did get the parts I ordered but now I am noticing something that kind of has me worried. In my account it shows the stuff I ordered as shipped for both orders but only has a button next to the order I received that says "RB152062286HK". This is where I get worried. The second order I placed, which also says "shipped" and has said that ever sense the first order went into that status, is for 4- HXT900 servos and they have plenty in stock. Despite its "shipped" status. It is lacking the little button that links up to the HK mail site and otherwise does not appear to have been shipped. I am going to try their chat support tonight and see if I can get some help.<a href="http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=662">

Wayne,
You might want to send an email to [email protected] (I think that is correct), instead of hitting up the chat. I have been hearing bad experiences about waiting 8-12 hours for someone to op up on the chat. Good luck. Do you have a shipping number on the order? If so, use the original order that has the link to go tot he shipping website and put in the number that hasn't arrived yet.

I only have a shipping number for the stuff I have received. Thats what I am missing on the page next to my second order even though it says shipped. I will try email and see what happens. Thank you.

i placed an order on 31-March and I'm still waiting on a backordered part. I'm thinking about cancelling the backordered part so I can just get my LIPOs already!

I am letting you know that the performance of the supply of goods from your company is absolutely shocking.

From the orders now placed with your company the average waiting time for my six orders to be filled is 6 weeks and I am still waiting for 3 of these orders, two of which are now 8 weeks.

While I understand Chinese New Year, moving factory, Easter Holidays it’s just not good enough for me to run my company taking my clients money and not supplying the goods within any reasonable time.

Look out Christmas is coming.

Please read my comments listed against each order as below.

I won't do back orders through HobbyKing. They have some really nice wheels at a great price but they were on back order for around 3 months. The batteries are the same way, I have been watching a few for over 6 weeks and still on back order.

My last order was promised in a day or two for 3 weeks. I did get the order but it did take a while. Prices are good but I wouldn't order anything I need in a short time frame from them.

Yeah I've had much better results that way.

Yesterday I sent an e-mail to them about an order and I received a response the next day.

That's a RECORD for HC/HK responses with me! Normally it can take up to a week before I get a response to an e-mail.

It also looks like their shipping times are ramping up a bit. I just got a 4 day turnaround.

With them Backorders are very problematic.

They will wait on ALL backordered items before shipping your order out, so they do not have to pay the high shipping charges on the backordered part.

As I rule I ONLY order in stock items, and set up an e-mail alert for stuff that is out of stock.

Were there backordered items on your order?

Have you sent them an e-mail with your order info asking about the status?

I did send an email and I am still waiting for a response back. I did get the auto response but thats it so far. I have NO back ordered items and I have supplied them with my account info so they can even login and look at it if need be. Hopefully they will get back to me soon.

Make sure your anti-spam stuff doesn't catch their e-mails. Even the Microshaft anti-spam blocker does so.

Well I found out the issue. Sense the servos were set up on "non-registered" mail, they get sent and dont have a tracking number, which would explain why I dont see one. The other down side is that it can also take up to 45 day before I see it. Well I guess this is just a lesson to be learned and depending what I need and when I need it, to choose my places I order from and my mailing method.

Bummer, but you live and learn. I have never shipped using unregistered mail, let us know if/when it gets to you.

Yeah I am kind of surprised that I didnt notice it was being sent that way. But oh wll, like you said live and learn...lol Well lets make a couple assumptions here. I placed my order on 3/26. Lets assume they shipped it on Monday the 29th. As of this coming Monday it will mark 21 days. That would mean I should HOPEFULLY get it around May 13th. So based on those assumptions I will keep you posted and let you know when I do actually get it.

EMS my friend. That's the ticket. Costs a little more, but well worth it. I wait until I have a substantial order for HK. Make sure it's all in stock and then order with EMS shipping.

Well I just thought I would update you all. I got my servos either on Friday or Saturday. This means that as of the official sale date to when they got into my hands it took a total of 24 days. Not quite as bad as the possible 45 I was told it could take. So to put it into perspective, 24 days from the day of order (not the shipping day) to then go from Hong Kong to Minneapolis, Minnesota using standard mail doesn't seem that bad at all. But I think from now on I wont be doing it that way...lol

That's good. I think you lost some days since they were moving their warehouse during that time too. Glad you got them. Are they going into the easystar?
