Covering

My Feedback: (2)
Rather than try to explain it all here, you might do better to head up to www.top-flite.com. Click on Monokote. On that page, you will see a URL on tips about applying Monokote. Lower down on the page will be another URL showing how to apply the matching paint.
While Top FLite will (naturally) suggest Monokote products, the tools and techniques you read about there will work with any brand of film finish. My only suggestion is to stay away from "economy" brand coverings.
The brand of covering you ultimately choose to use is very subjective. What you swear by, others will swear at, and vice versa.
Some of the important points, regarding any covering, are:
1. Sand the surface, and don't expect the covering to cover any mistakes. Like paint, it only shows them off better.
2. Once you have sanded the surface, filled in the dings and other hangar rash, then sand again. Then, clean the model off with a rag, vacuum, and tack cloth.
3. Take your time. Your first effort might not be show quality, but as you cover more models, your finishes will get better.
I hope that this helps some.
