ok my roommate just purached a Super Cub LP RTF. he crashed it but all was fixed for cheap so happy about that.
i want to get a plane for myself now but not sure if i should get the same model as he has or not. im still a beginning and will probally crash it alot
well looking through alot of planes i saw multiplex xeno flying wing when i really like the shape of it. although dont really understand it much. i noticed it didnt have wheels so im sure sure about it. and also i think is a glider which can change which also had me confuse i know about the tuning kit but not sure if i buy it ill need it or not. and dont even know if i came with a remote.
well enough with that im asking for help picking a first plane.
is the Xeno similar to Super Cub LP
is it is very different is there a way to make it similar or is there another plane shape like Xeno that works like the beginner plane...
by that im wanting a control of couse, wheels so i dont have to toss it all the time (take offfrom ground) so far that really all i know i want... maybe duarable

To get an idea of what getting into this hobby is all about, read the "beginner resources" sticky at the top of this forum and then the "need a trainer" sticky. The first question I have to ask every beginner is do you plan to do this alone? If so, you will crash alot. Most guys who start on their own do what your roomate did, and it takes some real perseverance to keep trying after multiple attempts go awry. A better way to start is in a club with an instructor. It will cost you some money, but is cheaper than replacing airplanes, especially when you figure what your time is worth fixing them.

You can learn to fly without even buying a plane. Many RC flying clubs will offer flight instruction even if you don't have your own plane yet. The Westerville Model Aero Assn highlighted in bold below participates in the AMA's Intro Pilot program.

First I fully concur with the responses you received above and would do well to heed them. In addition I just wanted to say although I have no idea what the airplanes you are talking about are but choosing a flying wing type airplane for a first is a very bad idea.
One of the most important skills you must learn to be successful is something called orientation. Even Sims are a poor substitute for learning this skill. OK orientation is directly influenced by the configuration of the airplane I.e. high wing, low wing, biplane, flying wing and even canard.
At the very bottom of the list in learning/maintaining orientation skill are flying wing.
Don,t Choose a Flying Wing for a first airplane.

The nice thing about getting into a hobby as old as this one is that the path is well beaten for beginners. A trainer airplane (that's what every maker calls them) is purpose built to survive an ameteur pilots attempts at control. You will have the same lessons to learn as other beginners, and there's nothing wrong with learning them on the same airplanes.
One piece of advice I'll give here is to not pick planes based on how well they crash. I can't tell you how many times I've heard guys praising those Super Cubs and saying they've crashed them 15-20 times! I know guys who learned on good glow trainers and crashed no times. Buy a plane that flies well (any maker's glow trainer) and get good instruction. No, you can't drill it into the ground and have it glued back up on the same day flying it again. But avoiding that is the purpose of an instructor.
