Hey all,
Old planes never die they just look as if they should have[>:]
Meet "Frank"entrainer.
This was a kit bashed LT40 with half the dihedral and changed tail feather shapes. A skosh extra rudder area. It got tree bit and I saved that tail feathers and wing. The fuse is a scratch built affair that I built for my neices years ago, modeled after an LT 40 as well. It has a pine door stop stock crutch fuse ala BUSA's Super Stick. CF fishing pole control rods, plastic landing gear, OS 46 fx motor. It will also get a 20 year old set of floats and be land sea convertable.
I thought about calling it "Red Stripe" as that is what I was drinking when I covered it
LOL
Actually I don't drink...much[>:] The velcro elastic tank strap was a catheter leg support OOOOHH, it was new relax. I am a registered nurse and I "find" that kind of stuff.

The second pic is the before pic. No comments on the messy shop[:-], I have had several club members diggingin there around doing spad sticks (6 of em) and various repairs.

It ain't really a shop unless it's being worked in..
You can still find all your stuff, right? I also found it funny that you named it Frankentrainer, I picked up a used, ugly 4 star 60, and to dress it up I put P-40 type shark teeth on it. I just called it Frankenplane.

It should be lighter than a stock LT 40 and fun to knock around with. I often let visitors fly my trainer on the buddy box. If a students bonks his bird I let em keep flying on mine. One wheel touch and goes are fun too. This one has only half the standard dihedral so it flies inverted well.
I used to be able to find everything quickly in my shop.
Now I keep finding stuff I forgot I had.
Actually I've been going through the accumulation and giving a lot away or having build sessions to use it up. I have around 30' of gutter pipe for spads and more signs than deaf man.
( or maybe just more than an ex govenor[>:])
Clearing out a bunch to make room for some composite work I want to fool with. I will need lots of clear clean space for that! Vacuum pump and bagging stuf is built and stashed, entire new homemade feather cut system just needs final assembly of the 24v power supply[8D]
BUT ITS A HOBBY so I don't have to have no stinkin' deadlines
