Default prop / airplane question

Going to maiden my u can do tomorrow I'm wondering if my prop pitch is OK. I'm running a 4 stroke with a 15x4 prop at 10,000 rpm. That's only 30 MPH max possible speed. Do you think that's enough speed? I wouldn't think it would knife edge that slow.

It may help to know what size U Can Do as well as what size engine. I fly my 46 size with a 4 stroke 82 and a 13/7 pr op. and that seems fine for me.

I question those prop/speed charts you find on line. I fly a 60 size Hots with a YS 1.10 with a 16X4 at about 9000 depending on the tune. This plane will fly a whole bunch faster then the charts say it will. Guess that's why you have to take out a bag of props and do the testing and find the prop you find that will fly the plane the way you want it to. There really are no magic props that one size works on all engines or planes.

id start w/ the 15x4, keeping the speed down to start may not be a bad thing.

That should be fine for slow 3d flying. Try gp and a 6p aswell

Hi!
I have a You-can-Do .60 too. Mine is powered by a 15cc (.91) two-stroke (MVVS 15cc). I have tried many props, 14x4W, 14x5N, 14x6, 15x4, 15x6 and 16x4 all APC and of the above props the 16x4 is the best.
Using a 15cc two-stroke engine in a You-can-do .60 is not going to give you a powerhouse but I can still climb straight up using full power.

The maiden went well the 15x4 worked well but I think a 16x4 might be better its on a Saito 100 thanks for your input

TEST TEST TEST !!!! I run the 16X4 APC on my YS 1.10 and I have and often do run them on one of my OS .91FS engines with good results. The 15X4 is another one I often use on the .91. If I nip a tip on a prop I have several 15X6 props that I also like. Prop testing can be fun and an eye opener.
