Hi,
Just a quick question with ref to buddy boxes, i want to connect my Futaba 6EXA radio as the main and a Futaba Skysport 6YG as the Buddy Box, i have the right lead the question is.....................
Does the Buddy Box have to be switched on ? Does the Buddy Box have to have a battery inside ? And i think im right in saying the Buddy Box shouldnt have a crystal in it, and the ariel should be down ?
Thx for any help on advance im looking to teach my dad to fly and i have both radios, just wanted to make sure i understand how thier ment to be set up

the buddy box needs nothing, and what ever you do do not turn the switch on!!!!! to avoid even the slightest possibility remove the battery,

Highlander is correct. The students transmitter does not need an antenna, crystal, or a battery. So in answer to your questions, leave the students transmitter off and the antenna down.

Congrats on JUST GETTING the right cable for the new style plug to connect to an old style.
It took me about 4 weeks of waiting to finally get the right one. had to finally order it from a heli place - the only place that routinely stocked buddy cords for 9C transmitters that have the same fitting as the 6EXA.
