i just recently bought a parkzone f27 stryker plug and play , and used my brothersJR programmable reciever to fly it (i originally planned on using the spektrum dx5 controler that came with my parkzone radian but later found out that i cant use the dx5 with the stryker because it cant be programmed to fly a plane with elevons ) so im wondering what would be a good programmable reciever i could get for the stryker ? im also very interested in buying any good used recievers so if anyones looking to get rid of theirs just tell me thanks

Tyler according to Google..your AR500 does have elevon mix capability.
Google AR500 elevon or just check out your manual. If you do not have the manual, you can download one from spectrum

rich...I think you misread. He meant that the DX5 radio doesnt have elevon mixing. I cant say for sure because I have a DX7 (and I "think" an AR500 in the stryker...Id have to look to be sure).

YES...the dx5 does have Elevon mixing. you just flip the mix switch all the way to the right. it says 'mix' right on the radio above that switch. I use the dx5 for my stryker...so yeah...it does work. My dx5 is the earlier version too(the one with the sim plug on the side that is really annoying when using with a sim...what 'genius' thoughtto put it THERE???!)and is still has the EM switch. I would guess the more current one would have it as well if that is what you have.
I'm going to a programmable radio though...once you get even three planes it soon becomes a PIA not to have easily accessible presets for each. BTW; I hear stryker is being discontinued. UNbelievable!!!!! I bought 3 extra wings($20 each) just in CASE it is really true(???)so I can have replacements for a long time to come. Great design.
BTW: I had the same question when i built my first stryker. but my hobbystore plane guy knew right off that the dx5 would work fine. Wings(like Zagi etc)that require elevon mix have been around for years now so it would be kind ofodd for newer radios on a growingly popular freq like 2.5 not to have elevon mixing. Enjoy your Stryker!
BTW...if you have not seen it, go to youtube and enter: Stryker with Gopro Camera'. Eric has some cool vid there. I would not have thought you could put a gopro on a stryker but he did on the stock 1880 motor to boot and it flies(and rolls) just fine. I'm thinking ...Ferret?

that is cool....I'm guessing that is one of those little keychain cams? I got three off of ebay. One of them came to me with no sound recording capability, though the video is fine. So I shoegooed it to the top of my Radian cocpit cover. I don't need to hear the engine noise anyway. Those things work real good for rc! The field of view is too narrow on them but up in the sky it is not noticable.
BTW: Be careful if that is what you have as the memory card can pop out! The vibration of the motor I guess. You can test yours to see if this will happen by pressing on the case (the fake buttons in the rear)over the mem card. If the mem card pops out when you press there...beware. I had to cut a thin piece of cardboard(from a cereal box) to shove in that slot (beneath the card)to keep it from happening.I tried electrical tape over the opening, but it does not work toguarantee full insertion of card. I was fortunate that the two times my card popped out, it did not vibrate out the whole way...but if it comes out at all you will have no recording of course.

No, mine isnt the keychain one...rather its the clone of the mini DV80.
Here is a link of the cam I own.

I havent had any issues with the memory card popping out. But there are no buttons anywhere near it...so that is probably why. And Ive used it on my 450 heli which vibrates 100x more than the planes I have had it on so far.
The only thing I dont like about it...is the date is wrong and i cant seem to change it. Ive found countless links on the net that tells you how to change the timestamp, but it just doesnt work with my cam. Other than that...its a great little cam and worth the money.
