Retired is not all that its cracked up to be, yeah you may have a little more time to yourself but as a rule your using it to sleep or rest up from your last endeavor *LOL* Enjoy your youth while you can the years fly by like days after you reach a certain age.

The Extra is looking good A friend of mine had the DLE 55 in his and it flew fine for him, the weight is the thing to watch and it appears your doing that.
The DL 50 in mine is a little lighter than the 55 and I felt was a perfect match. I suppose I am going to have to get the Cap to get a wing for my plane and get it back in the air. I can copy the wood for the wing and have both planes if I want.

My Midwest Extra XS weighs 15 lb. I have a ZDZ40. Flies great. JR 8611A for rudder, Futaba 9451's for elevators and ailerons.

I destroyed my wing into the flightline fence and had to buy a new kit to rebuild the wing. If you have not yet thrown away your scrap from punching out ribs, trace them onto paper first. Hopefully you will never need to, but in case you need to replace a rib, or a wing, you will need a template. I DID trace my ribs as I built the second wing, so I can provide them if you ever need them. As you know, you need those jig tabs to get the taper and washout right.

There MAY be foam wing cores out there for the MW extra, but I have never looked into that.

I know what it's like to build with little kids. I have three 8 and younger. On weekdays I build after 9 P.M. when all I want to do is sleep. Sigh...
