NEED HELP...PLEASE!
Hi all,
I have a new easyglider that i have built/put together ect. My electronics arrived today and there is a problem. I have a Hitec Optic 6 transmitter with a 35mhz module on the back. I have the RR version of the easyglider so the servos were already installed. I have a Guanli rx and Guanli 35.200mhz crystals. My power supply is a 4.8v 4 pack battery. The problem is that it doesnt work. Once everything is plugged in, (battery-battery slot, ch1-aileron, ch2-elevator, ch4-rudder, ch5- aileron) and the matching crystals are in the tx and rx it doesnt pick up. I have tried a few things but no matter how much stick twiddling i do it doesnt react.[:@] Any help would be appreciated.:( Cheers, Matt |
RE: NEED HELP...PLEASE!
Don't know anything about that brand. But why do you have ailerons in both 2 and 5. Are you using flaperons? My futaba slot 2 is for elevator, 3 for throttle and 4 is for rudder. I know someone here will help you.

RE: NEED HELP...PLEASE!
Hi,
Yeh sorry i just realised i put typed that in wrong. Has now been corrected to my actual set up. Cheers, Matt |
RE: NEED HELP...PLEASE!
If I read your post correctly did you use a different brand of crystal in the transmitter than Hitec??
Ken |
RE: NEED HELP...PLEASE!
yes.
|
RE: NEED HELP...PLEASE!
That's more than likely your problem then. You should always use crystals from the manufacturer of your radio. If you have a Hitec radio then you need to have a Hitec crystal in it.

RE: NEED HELP...PLEASE!
Hi,
Ok, thanks for the advice. Will these crystals work with my receiver aswell? Matt |
RE: NEED HELP...PLEASE!
Hi,
I just had a look and the crystal i have are meant to be compatable with hitec... Matt |
RE: NEED HELP...PLEASE!
There is a chance that the TX and RX simply will not work together no matter what you do. This happens in some of these inexpensive Chinese products.
|
RE: NEED HELP...PLEASE!
why didn't you buy a hitec rx?they're dirt cheap!
|
RE: NEED HELP...PLEASE!
I dont know!
Just about to though. Thanks for your advice everyone. I will never try cheap products again! Cheers, Matt |
RE: NEED HELP...PLEASE!
You don't save much in the long run. Sorry.[&o]
|
RE: NEED HELP...PLEASE!
cheap is sometimes good but in the case of radio gear it's not worth the risk,i bought a webra nano rx once and lost a much loved model and nearly took out a kid because of the p.o.s.
|
RE: NEED HELP...PLEASE!
Yea i love cheap stuff (who doesn't) but radio gear is one thing that i do it right and spend the money, there's just too many things to go wrong with electronics
|
RE: NEED HELP...PLEASE!
My daddy use to tell me "only the rich can afford the cheap stuff, because you have to replace it so often"
|
RE: NEED HELP...PLEASE!
yeh thats a very valid saying.
i have brought a cirrus receiver as it was going so i hope this will work better! matt |
RE: NEED HELP...PLEASE!
i hope you got a cirrus crystal, why didn't you buy a hitec rx?you bought an rx that very few people stock and even less use, what does that tell you?
|
RE: NEED HELP...PLEASE!
god, your not telling me that it wont work.
|
RE: NEED HELP...PLEASE!
I don't think he is, not sure he knows. I think he is just wondering about your logic in making that purchase. Had it been me, I would have also bought a Hitec and KNOWN that I had a matching combination.
|
RE: NEED HELP...PLEASE!
Yeh, I no, I was going to buy a hitec rx but i checked the cirrus rx compatiblility with hitec transmitters.
|
RE: NEED HELP...PLEASE!
I GUESS you should be OK then.
|
RE: NEED HELP...PLEASE!
Maybe this is a stupid question, but I didn't see it mentioned yet. Are your receiver and transmitter batteries fully charged?
|
RE: NEED HELP...PLEASE!
you should be o.k. but i looked at the ripmax website and it said nothing about compatibility but futaba rx will work with a hitec tx and vice versa and i know a cirrus rx works with futaba tx so fingers crossed,i still can't understand why you didn't go with the hitec rx,was it a financial decision?
|
RE: NEED HELP...PLEASE!
Do a really good range check:D antenae down and around 100' away without jitters and it should be ok.
|
RE: NEED HELP...PLEASE!
Hi,
Right, just to let everyone know...it didn't work yet again. I'm going for a hitec or futaba rx this time! Well the cirrus rx just came up and i thought i would give it a go! so slightly financial decision. matt |
RE: NEED HELP...PLEASE!
Yes, they are.
|
RE: NEED HELP...PLEASE!
Could it be my crystals that are causing the problem? They should be compatible with my tx for sure, is there anyway of checking?

RE: NEED HELP...PLEASE!
Hmmmmm, yeh that might be an idea...
My nearest hobby shop is minimum 30mins+ away which is quite annoying. Maybe this weekend? matt |
RE: NEED HELP...PLEASE!
Ok,
Comments on this...will it work? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/448017-GWS-Sin...QQcmdZViewItem Matt Also...just came to me, i did some brief reseach which did not return very solid answers...what conversion are Cirrus rxs? |
RE: NEED HELP...PLEASE!
Don't know. Just aren't that many Cirrus on this side of the pond that I know of. Sort of a Brand X these days but used to be a popular brand years ago.
|
RE: NEED HELP...PLEASE!
you aren't learning are you?buy a bloody hitec rx and some hitec crystals and it WILL work!
|
RE: NEED HELP...PLEASE!
alright, i am going to.
i didnt start this thread for people to have a go at me. |
RE: NEED HELP...PLEASE!
not having a go but you're causing yourself unneccessary grief
|
RE: NEED HELP...PLEASE!
One reason I suggested going to the shop with EVERYTHING is so you can make certain the problem isn't the transmitter. How certain are you sure of it? And please be assured that I am NOT "having a go at you" either. Why would I, too far away to enjoy it.:D Darn, now you got me kidding around.
|
RE: NEED HELP...PLEASE!
Yeh, i think i will take everything. I don't think that the problem is with my transmitter but might aswell check it. I know you are trying to help, it was just the way bigchap sounded in his first comment.
matt |
RE: NEED HELP...PLEASE!
Right idea, wrong way to say it.
|
RE: NEED HELP...PLEASE!
Exactly, I take his point, just wrong phasing.
I'm asking why i didn't but a hitec rx to start with. |
RE: NEED HELP...PLEASE!
Let us know when you find the answer.:D
|
RE: NEED HELP...PLEASE!
I could probally tell you now, not having a hitec receiver.
We will see soon. I will keep you posted. Matt |
