what is a pulse frequency on ESC?

my speed controller setting either to 8khz or 16khz and i aint gotta clue what it means.

I hope somebody with real technical knowledge will respond, but here's what I recall from somewhere. PW has to do with the switching rate of the ESC, i.e. the frequency with which the ESC turns current flow off and on in order to control the RPM of the motor. For most of us the lower setting is fine. If you want maximum performance from your motor (at the cost of a higher amp draw) use the higher setting.

the annoying thing is the multiplex instructions do not give you any idea on how to set iut up to be the max of its ability,

sorry, don't know anything about Multiplex. Most ESCs use the ower number as default. Unlessmyou are flying competition of some kind it should be fine.
