Default Gary Wright gear drive problem. HELP!!

I just set up a Great Planes/Endoplasma gear drive with a 10 T pinion (MEC), and the spur gear was wiped out on the first test run. WHAT DID I DO WRONG? Please help.

Default RE: Gary Wright gear drive problem. HELP!!

Mike,

The gear mesh was probably too loose. Luckily, the gearboxes are inexepensive and you can buy replacement spur gears.

When I adjust mine, I listen for both noise reduction and current reduction using a variable power supply and no prop attached.

Although no grease is needed because the materials are dissimilar, a light Teflon grease application will help.

Good luck!
