Futaba 4YF Radio System - is ESC compitable
Hi,
I have a 4 channel airplane, and i think that i will change its electronics including the radio system
Is there a compatable ESC (without reverse and braking) to work with the Futaba 4YF radio system?
thanks in advance

RE: Futaba 4YF Radio System - is ESC compitable
but since the Futraba Rx, as said in the manual, is powered by batteries, can i use an ESC.
My concetn is that in the manual, it is said that in the throttle channel one must use a servo.

Here are some specs from towerhobbies - they actually have more tech. info. that futaba-rc.com
radio system is designed for Park Flyers and thus power will be provided to the Rx via the BEC Electronic Speed Control (ESC)
SPECS: Transmitter:
Modulation Method: FM (Frequency Modulation)
Power Requirement: 9.6V NiCd battery
Curent Drain: 180mA
Trainer cord port is a micro port
R114F Receiver: (FUTL0442, FUTL0443)
Narrow Band: 20kHz
Power Requirements: 4.8 to 6.0V (shared with servos)
You should be able to run the RX off of the plane battery which connects to the ESC, you should not need the battery for the RX.

Plus, I don't even think they make manual speed controllers anymore, you need an ESC to control the motor you can't use a servo.
The ESC comes with a plug that will fit into the RX and power it.

If you get the 6EXAS Radio kit it comes with the servos, receiver and everything you need. You don't need that separate flight pack?????

RE: Futaba 4YF Radio System - is ESC compitable
Hi mouthpiec,
First, You don't want to order a radio from the US, as we use 72 Mhz. Stick with a Euroland distributor
Second, all receivers will work with a BEC ESC, you plug the servo connector on the ESC into the throttle channel on the receiver and that's all there is to it, the ESC powers the receiver thru that connector, all the + pins pins are connected together in a "common buss" arrangement as are the - pins, so the receiver can be powered from any connector[8D]
Regards,
Pete

RE: Futaba 4YF Radio System - is ESC compitable
good point......most of US is 72Mhz.....but i have seen 27Mhz offered......the 40-41 I highlighted earlier were just channel options not bands....my fault.
