my engine starts fine and runs fine until you hit the brakes, whats wrong with it, it would be much aprciated

check your linkages and idle adj screw. if all of thats fine then check your clutch

what do I check the linkages for,what should i check the clutch for and what should the idle screw be turned to?

check the clutch to see if the shoes are melted or if the springs are weak of broken. you want at least a 1mm opening in the carb at idle, and this has to be set with the idle screw NOT the radio trim
