I think so. I'm a noob and do my own cylinder mods and it makes a very noticable difference. If you get it done by a pro shop, I would make sure the motor is worth it if you have to pay for it.

Well it is my brand new trx 3.3 with about 5 or 6 tanks in it so it is in perfect condition and it is being sent to a proffesional place. Dadders.net.

I personally would not send in any TRX engines for mods. If you have a worthwhile engine such as an OS .18TZ, then that would be worthwhile to spend the money to mod. The TRX 3.3 from what I hear is not as good an engine as Traxxas makes it out to be and many people chuck that 3.3cc(.20ci) engine for the smaller OS .18TM or TZ. The TM and TZ OS engines are what racers use when they take their Revos and T-Maxxes to the track. The quality of OS speakes for itself, but when professionally modded by a reputable modder (Dadders, RB Mods, EB Mods, etc.), these engines can have alot of power potential drawn out of them.

from what i hear about this engine it is very strong and has almost as much power as the tz. And it is pretty durable, maybe not as good as an os tz but the tz is also turbo cut. And at the time i didn't feel like getting new mounts so i got the 3.3. I don't plan to race oganized anyways. I just wanna beat my buddies RS4 with a Novarossi N12LL5 that he just got. I am sending it to dadders and they say this engine will come close to doubling in power with their full race mod. And with a tuned high rpm exhaust and motor saver intake i think i should have no problem along with a few suspension mods. And i mainly just wanna see how fast i can make this car go too.

If you are just out and about bashing and practicing, then I guess its okay. The TRX engines does lack turbo cuts like the .18TZ has, but dnt worry, Dadders will cut at least 2 or 3 turbocuts into the crank in a full engine mod.
As for buying a different mount, all Traxxas stok RTRs have universal small block mounts. What I mean is that a .18TZ or TM, or any other small block SG shaft for that matter, will bolt straight onto the mount without any modifications needed.
You vehicles, is it a 4-Tec? With engines as large and powerful as the .18TZ/TM or your TRX3.3, gear as high as you can go to reduce the torque at the wheels. This will help accleration times in that you are less prone to break the wheels free of the road and drifting. As a result, you top end speed will be increased as well! Traxxas design and build their vehicles to be lighter than HPI vehicles; this is an advantage when accelerating!

Well i have all 4 optional gears for the better accelaration because at the time i had the stock 2.5 in it and don't hsve a huge area to run it. But i have the stock gears still. Do you know of nyone who makes taller gears so it will top out faster than stock?

To get top speed, typically, make the spur gear smaller and the clutchbell gear larger on the 2nd speed.
For example, if you your second speed was originally 17T CB and 52T spur, increase the cluchbell tooth count and decrease the spur gear tooth count. Jumping to a 24T CB and 46T spur will give you serious potentioal to greatly increase you top speed. The drawback however is that your engine might not have the torque at higher RPM ranges to push those gear ratios.
I do not know what the gear ratios are for Traxxas vehicles, so refer to your manual for which tooth count gears are available for your vehicle.
