I am looking at purchasing an (RB Concept S7 L2G Off-Road Competition Buggy Engine (Standard Plug))...
does anybody have feedback about RB engines and specifically the S7...? Amain has it for $269.00... my limit is 299.00 I was thinking of getting an O.S. V spec... but am not sure anymore because of some bad reviews (bearing and crank shaft problems).
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I havn't raced one but I pretty sure a Cl7B will blow the S7 away.

i don't think any motor blows the s7 away, maybe a 1/2 length faster on a long straight. all i can say is they are amazingly smooth but when you need the power its there. they have like built in traction control or something but you can clear any triple with minimal runup. i got the s5 cause i heard it had a bit more bottom than the 7 but the 7 lacks no bottom at all. its a screamer, you'll be very happy. run it 1 or two hours rich from max power and it will last you a long while. i think the older generation rb's had some front bearing issues, but the new l2g's have different bearings so no problems to worry about. i broke my s5 in with the drake method and it liked it. it runs about 220 crisp, any leaner and it lean bogs on the middle of the straight.

I've got an S7 circuit (Turbo plug non L2G) and it ripps it up quite well, holds a tune perfectly, plenty power as well, if your clutch is set up right this engine has awesome low end torque and great top end. As j_blaze said, clearing triples won't be a problem!!! Good luck.

From my experience with the RB 928, id stick with RB til i get out of nitro rc. They are a bit tricky to tune if you dont have the right plugs or run 30% in some cases. Everything else about their motors is grade A performance, reliability. From guys that are around me that run RB's, you couldnt sell them a different motor unless it was a novarossi. RB's also last alot longer than most other engines. That S7 will outlast that Vspec or any other OS for sure. I broke in my 928 by idling 5 tanks through it( shuting off after every tank to let cool with piston BDC) then running it very rich for another 6-8 tanks before messing around with the carb for performance. My other RB is the C6 BB7T L2G .21, which is still in the box for now until my buggy gets here and is rtr with the other stuff i need. Those 2 engines are the best of RB's offroad engines. For your budget being $300, id say go for the S7, Rb doesnt make junk, or nothing slow no matter what it is. Have no idea about sirio besides the leaking carb i have on my Sirio .27, and cant find a replacement for. Id like to get a novarossi one day or a ninja but for now its all RB for me.

Thanks for all the replys... I think I am going to get this engine... Should I get the RB 2045 pipe with it? I was looking at the Jammin JP pipes... some people say they like these... or would I be better just going with the RB pipe?

I would have to highly recommend the the RB S7. This is an excellent motor. I may be bias but thats because I have been running rbs exclusively now for he last 7 yrs without any major failures or problems. Rb are easy to tune and hold there tune very well and last for a very long time. One word of warning though they are very tight when new. Take extra care when breaking them(preheat before starting) in and they last.
The S7 will be able to match any other engine in top end. Yes there may be better engines out there but it will hold its own andwont be too far off they're heels. If anything it does lack a little bottom end, but this is easy to fix with the right clutch setup(lighter shoes/heavier springs). Although this is a good thing sometimes as a tame bottom end makes it easier to drive and get the power to the ground.
Yes its true the RB S series are made by novarossi but that doesnt mean they are a direct copy. RB is still in control of all the details of the engine novarossi just manufactures them to the specs rb give them.
Anyone who can win offroad world championships must know what they are doing.
I would get the RB pipe aswell, you could try and find a bundled deal and buy the engine and pipe together.

RBs are made by Novarossi not Rossi to rb specs. I think the new speedline is made by Sirio. But all these are rb engines. Different moulds, different machining even different materials. They arent a copy of anything.
So if you want to say they are rossi based you would be incorrect. Rossi and Novarossi are also seperate companies.

I never said they were a copy of anything, all I said was they were Rossi based, excuse me... Novarossi or whatever you want to call them. I never ever said in any of my replies they were a copy, just a concept based on whatever engine company they got the idea to make, so yes I'm sure they design thier own engines but they based them off of something, that is all I was trying to say. I hope we can be done now.
