I just trimmed the body using a Dremel with a Sanding Drum to allow space for the Pull-Starter. You want to do this from an edge if you can. A hole would make removing the body for any type of maintenance a real pain.

If you insist on a hole, try a length of fuel tubing, split lengthwise. Use it around the inside edge of the hole, maybe using ShoeGoo to help hold it there. I do that for the hole around the pipe stinger on my buggy, but it doesn't need the ShoeGoo for that.

Which vehicle do you have?

Dremel and sanding drum is how it is done, definitely. Will make the cut out look clean, no need to bend anything up.
