Here a couple pics of the twins mocked up one final time before finishing.
There is very little left to do on both the planes other than final sanding and covering / painting.
hopefully I can start covering by next weekend.

Today I did all the paint work for both Cuda's. What a long day. Well, not all of it. Everything was primered and sanded and ready for color before today. 6 Different colors plus clear.
The orange/black/sliver and white is for my Cuda. The Red/black/yellow is for my friends Cuda.
I really hate painting and I'm glad it's out of the way. Now on to Covering.
Mine is going to wait. My friend is anxious to start flying his. I promised mid August and already missed that soooo.
anyway, here are some pics. That dining room table comes in handy.

ok..I hate painting and prep. Too much mixing and gun cleaning and clean-up during the paint part too.
Here is a picture of my cowl and wheel pants with the graphics on. In case you didn't guess by the orange black and white scheme
this is a Harley Davidson themed Cuda.
Instead of a DA50 I'm putting a 96 cu. in. Harley V-twin in it. Should pull it well but weight will be an issue.
the graphics are from Bryan Zang at Aero Graphix.

I wasn't going to post any pictures until it was complete but I think it looks pretty cool soooooo

Looking great Steve. Will you have it done for the Shawnee Imac in Sept? I got to fly Rob's Cuda at the Milford contest. You will LOVE this plane.

I doubt mine will be finished. I got to finish the other one first so now that the paint work is done mine is on the back burner while I finish the other.

Well, it took awhile. Funny how life gets in the way sometimes. Anyhow, I finally got my friends Cuda covered.
Now it's just matter of installing the hinges, servos, hardware etc.
here's a quick pic of the covered plane. Not a great picture..but I wanted to show the covering.
the next entry will have a couple pics of engine and "control room" along with some finished shots.

normally I would start at the bottom and go up but because of the black stripe I did the yellow bottom , red top and then the black stripe last.
If I did the black before the red, the black would have shown through the red where they overlap.
The yellow on the bottom and sides is one piece. I started on the bottom side the fuse and just ironed and stretched a little up around both sides.
It's sort of a pain but looks nice than using 3 different pieces.
hope that helped

Well, it's finished. Here are a few pictures I took before loading it up to deliver to it's owner.
I hope he likes it.
Now if I could only find time to finish my Cuda

Steve,
We had terriffic weather this weekend in Michigan and finally got the Cuda out. One click of aileron and a couple licks of down elevator and she was level and straight. CG is in the perfect location, inverted at 45 deg. had a slight arc back to earth. Nothing fancy, just a few tanks of 32/1 and some nice lazy eights. We had a slight cross wind and when your 150 ft. up, the Plane would get moved around a bit. But all-in-all, the Carden's really fly nice. Thanks again, just another perfect build! Can't wait for the YAK!
I'll ship photo's to Caroline and Dennis, they both wanted to see the Cuda finished.
regards, Ward

Hey Ward,
Glad to hear she's flying good for you. It looks great. I little bit of graphics really high lites the design.
The Yak is coming along nicely...but it was a great weekend here in PA too and that meant trying to get all
the "spring fix up" things going around the house. Plus 4 lacrosse games, 2 each for my son and daughter.
I need to go back to work to get some rest.
Keep me posted once you have the fine trim taken care and really start putting it through the ringer.
