New pics. I repainted the front end on my Murcielago body, due to a 30+ mph head-on into a wall, and added some new parts and up-grades to my CT4S.
Parts and up-grades... MX-3S Radio; Metal Brake Disk; Metal 43T Spur Gear; Hitec 625 BB Servo; Light Kit; Hyper-Valve; Venom Speed meter; and Venom Fail Safe. More to come later...

hey mate,
just bought a cen ct4s, and have to say, your feedback on this website is great. how do you know so much? i haven't used my car yet, but i am definately going to do a few mods before i do, to prevent any stuff ups people seem to be having. what do you recommend? i want to get bottom end speed, so i was looking at getting a CT045 kit? is that correct? what about your idea about 16t pulleys? (or is this the same thing) also looking at metal brake and aluminum spur 17 gears?
Most important! WHERE DO I GET THOSE LIGHTS? i live in australia, and have been trying to get lights for the under side of the body to get that Fast and the Furious effect, but headlights will do. i have got a 200mm HPI Lambo shell and painted it HOT ORANGE, looks great but would be better with some lights. got any tips?
thanks.

Using the 16T pulleys in place of the 25T pulleys will really help in acceleration. You will also have to change out both the main drive belt and the rear belt if you want to do this swap. (Main belt would be CT019 and rear belt would be CT011) I am not sure what the Competition drive train consites of, but its part number is CT045. I will be getting this part eventually.
The aluminum pulleys are great for better pulley strength and will last a lot longer than the plasic pulleys. (CTS16 for the 16T; CTS17 for the 17T; and CTS29 for the 25T Aluminum pulleys)
If you look for "CEN Racing", he has made quit a few posts on up-grades for the CT4S. If you look up parts numbers for the CT4S and the part numbers letter ends in "S", most cases its an up-graded part. "CEN Racing" is a real big help in all CEN products. He accually works for CEN RACING.
I replaced the 42T plastic spur gear (the green gear) with the 43T metal spur gear from the Genesis. I got tired of replacing the 42T spur gear. You may want to look into getting this gear.
I got my light kit off of E-Bay. I paid about $30, US. I will try and find the persons sight on E-Bay that I got my kit from.
If you have any other questions fell free to ask. And I will try and steer you in the right direction.

You should send photos of you car to CEN, I read in another post that they are going to have a consumer rides page. I think the e-mail was [email protected].

You can look into getting the Competition Drive Train (part# CT045). Not sure what all comes with this part but it should be everything you need. Or you can get the 16T pulleys (part # CT015; comes with 2-16T and 2-17T pulleys) and put them inplace of both 25T pulleys. You will also need 2 new belts main belt CT019 and rear belt CT011. That should be everything you need to get the car moving faster from the start. You will lose about 5 to 10 mph with this conversion.
Also look into up-grading you brakes. Its the cheapest up-grade for your car. Your car will stop a lot faster with no brake fad like with the fiber disk. You will be getting the metal brake disk with brake pads. (Part# GX38 for the Disk and pads; Part# GX37 for replacement pads.) When you get the pads, you will want to up CA glue to glue the pads to the metal shoes. The glue will help with better supporting the pads under braking. After you get the pads on the metal shoes, take some fin sand paper to clear the edges and lightly scuff up the pads to get the waxy coating off the pads.

I forgot to answer your other question stall1on. The CT4S uses the 200mm bodys. You might beable to us the 190mm depending on the type of body you us. The Lamborgini body I am using is a 200mm and it fits tight. I would stay with the 200mm bodies.

Hi! Great CT4! I just bought mine 2 months ago. I'd like to get the metal spur gears but haven't been able to find any for this car.
I also bought the Venom Speed Meter and have NO clue on where/how to install it. could you give me some pointers? also on where to get the spur gears.
Thanks a lot.

PS. How fast has your meter registered?

Didn't know it had metal spur gears but I haven't driven my car since last August and I'm just getting it off the shelf to get it back on the road. I would like to know if there are metal gears also.
I also just did the engine swap I just received my 2.5 turbo today and plan on breaking it in tomorrow. Has anyone tried this motor out yet?.

There is not a metal spur gear set for the CT4S/R. But you can use the metal 43T Spur gear from the Genesis. Part #GS087. You will be replace the 42T plastic spur gear. The second gear from the Genesis will not work. But I have not had any problems with the plastic second gear. It was only the first gear that kept on losing teeth. Look at toyhaus.com for parts.
On the wheels not moving bennydhill, check and see if your spur gears and bell housing gears are meshed good (touching properly). Also check to see if something is binding the belt from turning like a small rock or even a pulley or the differental is not moving. A bearing in the diff or pulleys could be bad. Just check all the pulleys, diff and belts to see if anything is stopping them from moving.

Tman - i saw a pic of the gen 39t metal spur, it looked like it would fit the alloy hub for the funfactor, as would the 43t - is this not the case?

I am really not sure about the Fun Factor. I think the 43T spur will work. But don't quote me on that.
But the 39T metal spur will not fit on the CT4S, from what I have been told. But the 43T metal spur will fit in place of the 42T plastic spur.

i installed the optional 2 speed - g84302 - in my fun factor.

if the genesis 43t fits the hub ok, i would have thought that the 39t would too - i cant see cen using 2 methods of fixing very similar gears, it would make sense for it to be the same as the optional gears for this 2 speed, which will fit either the 1st or 2nd gear hubs. it does look the same in pics, kinda hard to be sure tho

wrong! the CT$-S comes with 26mm wheels. You can even fit 30mm wheel on the rear by just trimming a tiny bit from the adjustable rear arms that bolt on the the damper round screw. It looks and handles fabulous.

g'day, bennydhill, can you describe the performance improvment with the competition drive train... is the acceleration much better, and how much top end did you loose? are you from sydney, and how much was the kit in AUD?
