Default Question for CEN or anyone

Is there a back plate available for the nt-16? I would like to use a starter box for my mt2. If I cant get a back plate then I will use a tiger drive and shaft start. thanks.

I use a Tiger Drive on my MT and like it allot. The only problem that I have had is with the plastic cover.
You can use a starter box with the pull start still attached to the motor. The only reason to remove the pull start is to save on weight and to clean up the appearance of the motor.

Don't go down the backplate route, it really is a pain. The part number for the non pull start backplate is G70337/13. That is also the number for the pull start backplate, see where I am going with this?

Thank you for the advice. What happens if the one way bearing in the pull start goes out? Will I then be stuck attempting to get a back plate? Since the pull start doesnt have to come out I assume you can use the starter box with the tiger drive on. I plan on using some type of rubber washer or o-ring between the screw and the plastic cover plate on the tiger drive to help keep from breaking. Thanks again!

You don't need the rubber washers between the plastic cover and the back plate just don't overtighten because the plastic will crack.
Yes you can use a starter box with the Tiger Drive.

There is a non-pull starter backplate and crankshaft that will work on the .16 engine. The non-pull start back plate is CEN G70339-13, the crankshaft is CEN G70339-15. I removed the pull starter from my ATX a few months ago and those are the parts I used.
