Default Integy's on MT2

I am currently building up a hot MT2 for racing.
It will have the JT racing chassis,
OS Max 18CV-RX,
CEN Aluminium tuned pipe,
Integy MSR4 Piggyback shocks,
One way front diff,
Aluminium brake seat,
GX1 brake disk and pads,
JR Cobra radio gear,
Hitec HS645 steering servo,
Full stainless hex screw set from RC Screws (these are great value!)
Venom failsafe.

I have just started the build and have come across my first problem, that is the Integgy shocks are approx 18mm longer than thae standard CEN shock.
Since I am using the JT shock towers, I have gained a little there, but I needed more so I decided to alter the bottom mounting point on the lower arm.
To do this I made up a custom bottom bracket out of plastic (as can be seen in the photos).
Has anybody done this conversion? Is there a better way?
I have currently made only one to test it and will wait and see if any better ideas come up before I make a whole set, hopefully out of black plastic, not white!
Also any idea on what tyres I should use, keeping the standard rim size.

Man, I cant wait to get this baby goin!!! [sm=lol.gif]

Attached are some pics of the maybe setup, plus my chassis stiffening mod.

oh yea, just go and steal the lime light why dont yer!!!

man that all looks very nice. mine used to be that clean...lol.

u saw what i did with my towers didnt u, to get the 1/8 shocks on there? just bolted the standard towers to the cen ones to loose some ride height. its a bit of a bodge, and it looks a pig, but it sure drives and handles well, i managed to get the driveshafts horizontal... have u had a look for any shorter shock ends for the integys? or even just softer springs...?

as for ur lower mounts... do i ever need some of those! they are just the ticket mate, well done. what plastic did u use? looks kinda like polypenco...?

i guess u read about peoples experiences with the one way diff? hope u fair a bit better on a race track mate, i believe most have had issues with it when bashing - not that i can really see racing being any easier on the diff...

not going for the 18tz then?

i seem to remember someone was using holeshots(?) on their mt2 for racing, with some success.

sorry for all the questions, dont want to keep u from getting it up and running! but do keep us informed on how u get on with the build etc...

Hey PJ, thanks for the comments.

The mount was made from a piece of breadboard and Im not sure on the plastic type. I just cut a piece off 10x10x34mm and shaped it with theol bench grinder!
I reackon you could make some for yourself, easy as.

Yea, I saw your shock towers! Why dont you get yourself some aluminium plate, a jigsaw and a dremmel, and go hard, you'l have some factory lookin shock towers in no time!!

As for the 18TZ....I want a bit of experience under my belt before I throw that sorta money at it.....then theres the reliability issues with the driveshafts etc... [&:]

Will check out the tyres they have at my LHS, will go for something lower in the profile, it will help with handling and acceleration.

As for the build will keep you posted...just waiting on the rest of my parts to arrive.

Cheers
