Hi Everyone. I need some suggestions on a good replacement set of shocks for my Cen MT2 Truck. I just installed a brand new OS .18 Engine. While looking to upgrade other parts, I noticed that my factory installed shocks are looking a bit wimpy, does anyone know of a better shock upgrade replacement set? Thanks.

There are several different options for you here. Most if not all 1:10 stadium truck shocks will fit. The CEN racing team were using Associated and Mugen shocks in their racing mts'. Some CEN owners have installed Tmaxx shocks and poorjudgement is using buggy front shocks. The easiest option (and the one I chose) is to get CENs' own aluminum upgrades. Mine have been getting abused for well over a year now with no problems at all.

Thanks Scouser. I have visited the www.cenracing.com website many times. I did not see the shock aluminum upgrades in the CEN MT2 hopups section. Perhaps I am blind, and did not see them on the site. Oops! ,,, If you know a few places where I can find them, can you point me in the right direction. I love my CEN MTs, but, just a bit disappointed that other major hobby stores like Tower Hobbies do not carry much of the CEN stuff. I can usually find lots of CEN stuff on the Ehobbies or the RCmodels websites, but the only problem there is that their websites do not include most the photos..? I wonder why? I usually endup not buying from them, only because if I cannot see the part and know for sure that its the part that I need, I would rather not waste my time and money in buying the wrong part. Nothing worse than more delays when your waiting to get your MT up and running and you blow, yet another beautiful weekend of running your trucks because the part you needed did not know up.. Hey, thanks again for the reply. I will look again for those CEN aluminum shock upgrades. Thanks.

Hey Scouser. Do you think this set of Duratrax MT shocks would do the trick? Check out this link to Tower Hobbies. Or tell me what specific vehicle type of 10th scale shocks I should be looking for.... Thanks again... http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXRP11&P=7

I have found www.toyhaus.com to be a big help, they have a lot of parts. I put the aluminum CEN shocks on my MT2 it was part ffs012 if I remember correctly.

cougartech67, those shocks should fit but I don't think there will be any increase in performance over the stock CEN ones. Before I got the aluminum CEN shocks I was looking closely at the Team Blue Star ones for the Associated RC10GT. They looked really well made and reasonably priced. I will see if there is a link I can post to them.
Ok try this http://www.teambluestar.com/gtshocks.htm

Hi Scouser. Do you recommend the CEN aluminum shocks FF012 set, VS the standard shocks set. I did see the aluminum set on the CEN racing website before. The way they looked on the site, I made a mistake in thinking that the FF012 alum. set was just the standard replacement rebuild kit for the standard shocks. I see now that they are actually the better aluminum housings and stronger springs. I will keep it simple and stay with the CEN aluminum shock upgrades. Thanks for the reply back. [8D]

Personally, I think the CEN aluminum shocks work a treat. They could do with a wider variety of spring hardness options and a colour rating system would be useful (they are all black!!). Other than that they have worked faultlessly for me.

Ok. That is a good suggestion. Maybe I should just get a set of new springs. How much better are the auminum shocks vs the standard factory set? The alum shocks are a $50 investment. what do ya think? Which springs would you recommend? I guess my question is, If I order a set of associated springs on ebay, how do I know they will fit on my MT? what should I be looking for? A certain length or diameter? or brand type? Thanks.

i have the associated buggy rear spring set for my rally shocks - they measure 70mm (2.75") how do they compare to ur mt springs? the inside diameter is 13mm (0.5") - any good?

Associated springs work real well. I got the soft set and they were a very good fit. Only problem was the soft Associated springs are......black. Make sure you get the rear springs because the fronts seem too narrow to fit over the CEN shock bodies without a bit of persuasion. As for the need for aluminum bodies for your shocks, it will be one of the first upgrades for any subsequent Fun Factors I might buy. I reckon it is well worth the money. JMO.
