Default MT2

Hey all, I may be getting a MT2 soon, and Im just wondering how good of a basher they are. I'm not too knowledgable about CEN...so your going to have to help me out here. Im going to be just blastin around the backyard...with friends...that kind of thing. Im new to MT's...been into ST's and TC's for a while, decided to try somethin new Thanks!

Personally I think that a stock Cen doesnt make the perfect basher as its drivetrain (diff cups and cvd's, dogbones) are fairly lightweight. And lack of aftermarket support means you cant buy upgrades for them. Its not too bad with the diff cup modification but you have to limit suspension travel to stop smashing cvd's and dogbones, which is great for racing but not really too good for bashing. Also the chassis is fairly flexy standard so that will also have to be modded (new era make a great rollbar) or you can do your own mod.
As long as you dont want to get massive air it should hold up well.
Its a great little car thats let down by a few little things. It bloomin well flies with the OS18 in it!!!

My next car is going to be a Savage SS 4.6 it should be able to take the punishment I dish out a little better.

Cheers

Sounds like what you are doing will be sweet for the MT2. That OS should bolt on there no worries.

rcjunky22... I have the os 18 engine in my mt2 and its the best thing I ever did... I limited the suspension travel somewhat so I don't sky it anymore... It takes reg jumps with no problem and I run it in cut grass all day... the engine temps stay around 250-270 all day and pulls lots of wheelies... One thing I have to say, it won't lose a race to any monster trucks... It is much faster than anything out there.

The OS motor you want to use is the .18 cvrx standard crank, rotary carb, pull start, and side exhaust.
Stock they do about 45 mph. With the stock gearing and the OS motor probably a few mph more due to higher rpm's and it will get there alot faster. Keep in mind that a MT going that fast is a hard to control, so stay away form inmovable objects.

it goes around 50mph... very hard to control at that speed mostly due to the tires ballooning out.... although that makes it go faster... I only do speed runs in wide open EMPTY flat parking lots... Heed this warning or pay later... for bashing, engine can't be beat... I have no complaints at all about it.. always starts and holds a tune... the cen engine was very good, but this is sooooo much better... I lowered the suspension and am working on fitting street tires to it..

i have a mt2 and all i do is bash in the back yard. It will take lots, but the aftermaket support is a little low but you can still get aftermaket parts for them. I would say that the mt2 would be good for you.

I'm fairly new to owning nitro trucks, as this is my second. Would any other 2 speed vehicle spurs work along with my MT2? Thanks!

Here are twolinks that you should bookmark. Between these two you should have no problem getting parts. Ehobbies ships quicker and toyhaus is slower to ship but they have a great online parts schematic.
