I am thinking of gettin a Savage 25 or a Genesis and was wondering what you guys think of them. Even though this is a Cen thread I knoe I'm gonna hear how bad the savage is and all that but please be honest. I'm looking to use the truck on-road but I still want the capability to go off-road when I feel like it but It will be mostly used on-road. Which truck is faster and has better handling? I know that Hpi says that the savage 25 can go around 40 but I've heard it can only go around 30-35. What is the speed of the Genesis fully stock? Thanks for any imput!

why would we bash a savage in a cen forum... actually the savage is a great truck and its easy to set up and use... its very durable and parts are readily available... the Genesis is a much larger truck that is a bit harder to set up and run... If you are experienced..... get the cen... the wow factor can't be beat.. If your are new or even a little unsure.. get the savage.. its easier to deal with.. Most of the cens problems stem from user inexperience with a complicated truck... ... as for top speed.. the cen seems to top out around 35 to maybe 40 mph.. The savage in stock form about the same...

If your main area of use is on-road, then maybe neither of these trucks would be best suited for your needs. Both the Genesis and the Savage are designed to be thrashed in an off-road environment, if you are only looking for occasional off-road use then maybe something like the Fun Factor would be more suitable. It has a much higher top speed than either the Genesis or the Savage and is equally happy on or off the road.
If you stick with your original two choices though, I honestly don't think you would regret your decision, whichever one you go for. They are both fantastic trucks.

Now which radio is better the one that comes with the Savage or the one that comes with the Genesis? Also would the Savage Limited Edition be quicker than the Cen because it comes with the three speed already installed and someone earlier said that the savage 25 (2 speed) would do around the same speed as the Genesis? And HPi says you gain a few M.p.h. with the three speed so any info would be great!

The Limited Edition Genesis 46 comes with Airtronics MX3 FM radio ($145)... As for the savage, the 3 speed will give you about the same top speed because the gearing of first 2 gear is lowered to make room for the 3rd gear. YOu will expereicen more torque and punch but about the same top speed. Not a good $100 mod if you ask me

I agree with Scouser, neither of these trucks would be ideal for you for mainly on road. Both these trucks have a high centre of gravity and big ground clearance. A truck with lower COG will suit on road running a lot more, especially if you dont want to go tumbling across the tarmac!! A CEN MT or ST would be a good choice or the Traxxas Revo for monster truck (low COG) or the new Jato for Stadium truck.

Is the CEN Impact C3 radio system any good that comes with the Genesis and does anyone have pictures of that radio because I wanna see what it looks like. I'm either going to get a Savage 25 Limited Edition or a Cen Genesis 46.

Why not go with the Genesis limited edition with airtronics MX3?
CEN Impact C3 is not that good, but it works..... I think, haven't used mine...

Well it seems you have your heart set on either of those two trucks, so go for the truck you want not the radio gear that comes with it. You can always change that later on. Personally I would go for the Savage as after a lot of research I decided on the Savage SS 4.6 for my next truck (not to replace my MT2, just to compliment it). With the SS 4.6 it comes with no radio so you can choose whatever set you want. It also comes as a kit which you have to build yourself, which is much more fun (for me anyway). And wheelies on command with no mods!!

Does the genesis break parts like my MT2 (diff cups, dog bones, spur gears) right out of the box??? i'm looking into savage 4.6 , savage LE, or Genesis. I like CEN and want to stay with them. But eveytime i run my darn MT2 it breaks something. Thanks for any advice.
In a nutshell, i wanna know if the Genesis is ment for the Backyard basher Out of the box. I want a durable truck. top speed is not my concern, i have a NTC3 for that. I have no problem ordering parts for CEN. Thanks!!!
