Been bashing the MT2 pretty hard the past couple weeks with no breakages or problems. Last week I started having problems with the stock radio. I narrowed the problem down to the receiver, but did not try a 2nd set of crystals to see if it was just a bad crystal. No problem, I knew it was pretty cheap to start with. Visited the LHS on Friday and they had a special on the JR XS3 with a free 2nd receiver for $20 cheaper than I found on the Internet. I had been wanting a better radio that I could use for multiple trucks. So it install it and take it out yesterday. Works great and all the little twitching I had with the stock radio was completely gone. About 4 tanks into it I take a pretty nasty spill down a hill (only one of many). Only this time, the antenna tube pulled off and the antenna (from my new receiver) wrapped around the hex wheel stop very tight. I quickly removed the wheel and freed the antenna. In the end, it scuffed the antenna up in two places but did not break the wire inside. I cleaned it up, covered the two spots will liquid tape and it still works good. I had my son help me test the range and it still seems good. Going out today to see if my bad luck will continue or if I will have another couple weeks of hassle free bashing.
Edit - Forgot my question. Has anyone came up with a good way to keep the antenna tube securely in the receiver box. I thought about a little dab of CA, but I am affraid that would be pretty permanent.

Yea I have that trouble as well, and I have thought about it and have come up with this yet to be fully tested solution.
Cut an inch or so of antenna tube and CA glue it in to its hole in the reciever box. About an inch sticking out should be fine I reackon.
Now push about 2 inches of fuel tubing over that and push the remaining antenna tube into the inch of fuel tubing thats sticking up so you have a replaceable antenna tube that shouldnt come out in a hurry.
It may be a bit floppy with the body off, so if you run that way it may be dodgy, but with the body on it should be sweet.
Also maybe try different lengths of tubing and see what works best.

I might try that, thanks. Knocked the antenna tube off again today, but I noticed it immediately before any damage could occur.
Do you guys leave the excess antenna rolled up in the receiver box or do you dangle it out the end of the antenna tube? I have seen it both ways. I used to dangle it out of the antenna tube but recently I started capping it off at the top and rolling the remaining little bit up in the receiver box because I think it looks better. The other way may have actually been holding tension on the antenna tube and keeping it from pulling out. Just a thought.

the stock tube seemed a little thin and mine fell off a few times.. I switched to an aftermarket tube.. I think it was gs brand and have had no problems any more... if you want to keep you original one.. try shoo goo at the base. I leave the extra wire sticking out the tube and put a ca[ on the top... thats it.

Ofna has an antenna tube kit that comes with a bracket to attach the tube to. You will have to drill out the battery box to make the bracket fit.
I also leave the excess antenna hanging out of the tube and cap it off. You can also get a longer tube so none of it hangs out.
