Default Blown Engine NT 16

I have blown the NT 16 on my ATX FunFactor. The piston has become very hard to slyde toward the top of the sleeve. The connecting rod broke towards the to and damaged the cylinder. The flywheel either became loose or could it have coused this? I am fairly new to this and I have not tracked the temperature well, can overheating couse this as well?

Thanks

you do know you can buy replacement parts and it will be like if it was brand new right? Trust me ive screwed my engine up quite a few times but its still runing great with a few new parts

If you think about how hard that con rod had to work, it's not surprising one breaks every now and again!! Bliping the throttle can strain the con rod quicker, alot of full throttle runs is also a killer. Nothing to worry about, just get a new piston, sleeve and con rod and the engine is as good as new!

The weird thing is that I had just rebuilt the engine three weeks ago, I must have done something wrong, or is it that common[:'(]?

Did you happen to replace the piston pin when you rebuilt it. There is a possibility that the pin broke.

The pin was intact, should it be changed every rebuilt?

I think it should be. It is subjected to the same forces as the rod and piston.

Thank Rolland, I will order it before rebuilding the engine.
