if its set up anyway like the savage is, then use a pair of channel lock pliers for holding the flywheel while using a pair of vice grip pliers to turn the screw. i dont even bother using a screwdriver on my bro's savage, theres no way thats coming out.

try the pliers, if no good try a dremel to cut a slot in the screw head and try a flatheaded screw driver.
it should be a hex head screw fitted at the factory for the clutch - mine was/is anyway.

Both my FFs came with phillips in too. I have started using RCScrewz, but they are fairly easy to strip also. I really wish someone would come out with some robertson or some torx screws.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck offroadfury. This happened to me not to long ago. The screws on the fun factor arent great quality and cant withstand alot of wear nor tear.
To solve the problem i used a drill/Hammer drill. I used a drill bit that was small enough to make a hole that would in turn break the head of the screw. If did ake me forever and i was using a hamer drill with all my force on top of it. Once you do this and finally break the screw you will notice that the thread on the screw will be jammed inside the pilot shaft. There is absoluely no way o getting this out so you will need to replace it. It only costs about $ 3.00 so dont worry.
I did an article about this on my website but for now try this link he gives some info on how to fix the problem in more detail i couldnt find the auctual link but it is there somewere www.misbehavin-rc.com
