Default Genesis Problem :(

Hey,

Was just after installing a pullcord onto my genesis as my mate broke it the other day, was drivin it around slowly tuning the engine as I only have it less than a week. So after about three tanks of fuel I pull up and go to take off again and I hear a little clink and the truck goes nowhere, thaught it might be a stone as i was on pebbles but looked a little closer and there is no movement out of the pinion gears when I give her throttle. So anybody have any ideas as to what the problem could be?

Cheers guys

OK, so when you rev the motor the pinons and spurs don't turn at all. Then something inside the tranny has failed. Can you push the truck and make it move?

Could be you have had a gear gone bad inside the tranny or the F/R shifter has become dislodged.

Sorry for the wrong place, thanks for moving it.

The f/r leaver seems to be ok because it switches forward and reverse easy with the remote. Must be a gear. Where would be the best place to start looking for the damages for that. Its the pinion gears on page 18 of the manual outside the front of the engine that don't seem to be moving.

Thanks for the help.

The clutchbell itself? that will not spin untill rpm's come up. If you give it throttle does the clutchbell still not spin? I would pull the cluthbell and inspect the clutch shoes and the springs... Are you positive the forward\reverse lever is fully engaged?

sounds like a allen screw came out of your front or rear drive shaft or the (if its the pinion gear on the engine not turning) the clutch springs broke. i would start either at the engine cb or the front or rear drives. if a allen unthreaded itself the center diff will give all the power to the loose axle and the truck wont go anywhere, or if the clutch is broken on the engine the motor will spin and not move the gears. and since the engine was pulled once before i would start their at the clutch bell and check if the springs are broken.
