I recently purchased the matrix. I used the heat cycle method for break-in. When I ran on track the temps were extremely high. I enlarged the openings on body and replaced stock air filter. Does this motor just run at a high temp or is there something wrong? Also, my body was very difficult to put on. I had to make a lot of adjustments to get it to fit. I kinda screwed the body up in the process. Is this the old body or this is just how they fit? Other than these issues the buggy is great. Love the radio system.

If you read the section of that reveiw where they test it at the track, they explain how they had an airfilter issue.
Hope that helps.

I replaced the air filter with one that sits to the side before I even started the buggy.

I have a temp gun. The temps were up to 285. I called Cen and got their recommended needle settings. I am going to go by performance and a lot less on temp. Thanks anyway.

285 isnt omg hot, but its at the edge, id say give it about 1/12 to 1/8th rich turn on the HSN and all should be good, unless your getting that temp only idleing.....then thats a bit warm. if you are then give the lsn about 1/4 turn rich and let it idle a minute. be sure to clear it out a bit by driving it around a bit, and then check your adjustment via temps. the NX 15 i have in my CT5 idles about 190 - 215 or so depending on conditions.
