either will drop straight in, the cvr-x has a noticeable amount of extra power over the cen .18.

oh u may need to shorten a manifold/header bolt for the cvr-x to work, but thats it.

forgot - if the os is still around $100 bucks (a steal of a price) then get urself one, u wont regret it. how much is the cen motor?

ORIGINAL: davcenmt2

also what model of the cv-rx would i need if i did get it
O.S. .18 CV-RX w/11J Rotary Carb
O.S. .18 CV-RX (S) w/11J Rotary Carb
O.S. .18 CV-RX w/11G Slide-Valve Carb
Get the CV-RX with the 11j rotary carb. It has more power than the stock motor, so you might break parts easier, but I have not heard anyone complaining about it.

just be sure ur brakes are in good order, and u have a failsafe fitted!

make sure u threadlock all metal to metal screws, all gears mesh ok etc etc, just like u would with the stock motor - if u miss anything tho, the os is less forgiving...

if it does give u any trouble, first things to try are the metal brake seat, and run longer screws thru the engine mount plate so u can fit nylock nuts to them.

25% nitro, os#8 plug and a OS T1030 tuned pipe come highly recommended with that motor.

Have fun.

Threadloc is an adhesive that will keep your screws from vibrating out. You can get it at any hardware or automotive store. It comes in a tube or a stick. I like the stick because it is not as messy. It also comes in multiple colors. Get the blue stuff. Use a small dab of it on any screw that goes into metal parts. If the screw goes into a plastic part like the diff case, do not threadloc it.

Threadlock is a type of "goo" i guess, that you put on the threads of a screw before you screw it into a piece of metal. Then when the threadlock dries, it prevents the screw from backing out due to vibrations etc...
It comes in low med and high strengths. Med is good for RC, or Even low.

short answer: Yes and Yes...

Long answer: The NT 16 and OS 18 CVRX have nearly identical exhaust ports. The cen header will bolt right up (just have to cut one of hte bolt shorter), then just hook up your tuned pipe instead of the cen one.
The 2 speed clutch bell fits perfectly, as long as you get the OS .18 CVRX and NOT the CVRX (S)

Parts durability with the O.S. is going to depend on where you run your truck. The weakest parts in my opinion are the dogbones/CVD's and the diff cups. These parts will probably not hold up well if you mainly run in grass. The spurs and the diffs should hold up fine.
