Can someone help me out? My Cen Gen keeps moving forward on its own while idling in neutral. And I'm not talking about just a little bit...moves almost as fast as I walk.
I tweaked the low speed...Nothing.
I tweaked the Idle screw...Nothing.
I tweaked the Throttle on radio...Nothing
What Am I doing wrong? I am using 33% fuel. I hope that is not the problem. Cause I love the power the 33% gives the Cen Gen

you've tried setting the idle so low it almost stalls?
If you have, then it is most likely a problem wtih the clutch staying engaged.
like fantomas says, broken clutch spring, or possible bearing failure in the Clutch bell.
But basically, the only way for it to stay moving is for that clutch to be engaging at least partially...

Ok...I made a slight adjustment with the Servo arm and The Gen is not moving while in neutral, but the brakes are slightly applied because of the adjustments. Is that OK? [sm=confused.gif]

it sounds more like a linkage problem than anything else. I'm willing to bet that your carb is open too much because of the linkage or the needle. I use to have the same problem, and when I checked, the throttle was open too much for it to sit still.

You guys hit the nail right on the head. It was the clutch spring...2 of them in fact. I just finish ordering a new set of them. Thank you

Alright everybody...I got the springs and installed them today. It works just fine now. Thanks everyone.
Its was kinda funny. I put the engine back in the truck and not paying attention, The Throttle arm was WIDE open (I screwed the link bar pivotal thing too tight)
Well when I started it...It took off like a Bat out of H3LL. I couldn't stop it with the radio. Lucky for me hit a chain link fence.
My only concern is when it hit the fence, the wheels stop spinning and the engine was still going full throttle for about 10 seconds. I stop it, let it cool for 5 min, fixed the Throttle and started it back. And it work just fine.
Could I have possibly damage it? [sm=confused.gif]

You may have done some wear to your clutch shoes. But clutch shoes are something that you will eventually replace anyway. So you may just have to do it a bit sooner is all.

Okay...another question. When will I know it's time to change the Clutch Shoes? They seem some what worn

When the shoe wears, it will get lighter, and thus engage later and not as hard as it would if it were new. So, if it still feels like it is running good, then you should be ok. But once you notice it not quite having the same off the line snap, if it's not engine related, it could very well be your clutch shoes.
IMO the Genesis is very heavy for the stock type shoes, I put NOVA racing shoes in mine and I am very happy wtih them. Much snappier than the stock shoes, but they will probabaly wear down the clutch bell faster than stock shoes.
