To set 2nd and 3rd you have to adjust the silver and black set screw, but what are the other two screws in there for?

I am refereing to the silver and black alen set screws.

they are push down on to ball bearings which hold the clutch pack to the metal piece which it sits on, those need to be snugged then baked out 1/8 of a turn. they basically keep the clutch pack from rotating on the shift hub.
