Hey guys. I got a problem with my Cen Genesis. It's the first problem i run into since the day i bought it. I think that was around 3-4 months ago. Anyways, i'm having a problem with trying to start up, where when you pull the pull start, the pull start comes out, and doesn't spin the motor/flywheel/whatever you wanna call it. It'll do it, but now, it almost doesn't anymore. So when i pull it, it comes out without spinning it. I know the pull start isn't damaged or anything, and i've never been rough with my truck. Any ideas what's causing it?

sounds to me like the one way bearing is gone in the pull starter.

You can also try cleaning the OWB with some denatured alcohol. Sometimes fuel will leak thru the backplate and get the OWB 'slipping' which is what you are experiencing. If a cleaning doesn't work then it is prob. time for a new OWB.

Hi I had this problem with my genesis but it wasnt the one way bearing. Inside the engine there is a little pin with a tiny spring. What ws happening was the spring had become too compressed and it wasnt pushing the pin out far enough so it wasnt catching on anything so it couldnt rotate the engine. What you have to do is take the pullstart off (but be carefull it doesnt come uncoiled) take the back plate off and look inside for the little pin and spring. When you have located it just put some tension on the spring so that it opens out more. This will then push the pin out more which will catch and then rotate the engine. Hope this helps.

sounds like you need a new one-way bearing... i always keep an extra one with me... like a glow plug... need that motor to start- in a pinch clean it and the back-plate area with motor spray....
