Ive read its the same tank as in the Matrix, if that helps. Isnt it listed in the manual for the Magnum? Might be worth trying to download either manual and see.

Or... contact the guy on this link through ebay and ask about the $0.95 tank listed way down the page... http://okvrv.org/125cc.html

No idea on the platic top plate though. But I think I know what youre planning on doing - hmmm, nice.

What I am doing is converting the Fun Factor over to the Magnum cause they no longer make the Fun Factor.

There was a handy post I found where the part numbers were listed: (I don't know for sure if this is complete as I've not yet done the conversion)

ff249 chassis 39.99
ff239 center drive shaft 18.00
mx002 gas tank 16.00
ff237 top brace 12.00
ff238 servo mounts 5.00
ff248 gas tank mounts 5.00
ff210 brake seat 5.60

Curious, if I were to use the stock FF chassis, then I would not need ff249 (nx chassis) or ff239 (cntr dogbone) correct? I'm hoping the the brake seat etc. still matches up on the stock FF chassis?

Basically I'm cheap, and the way I look at it is if this works, then I won't need to purchase the $39 aluminum brake seat but will still stop stripping gears, get a larger fuel tank, and lower my c.g. for amost the same amount. Anybody see any flaws in my plan?

Cheers,

Mark

The top brace will be too long, if Im not mistaken. Not sure if it would match up with the stock brake seat screw holes either.

But there are other ways of doing what you want to do. Theres quite a few on here who have added larger tanks and braces for very little money. Maybe worth a new post asking for pics of what people have done?

Nice one re the part numbers too.

Found this on my hard drive.

Hmm looks like RCU resized it... I got it from Cens website, I think, with the NX manual too. www.cenracing.com

Yea, you're probably right. Now that I think about it, I doubt the top plate fits. Well, now I've got to decide if I just want to do the whole upgrade to an NX and be done w/ it. Anybody had experience w/ the NX that can verify that the gears don't strip etc?

Cheers,

The NX is well worth it in my opinion I have had the opertunity to drive them all and my favorite is the mini cooper rally.
The new gas tank which is from their matrix buggy provides some real long run time and the NX holds up real nice.
I have stripped one spur launchin a magnum off a skateboard ramp- but on the track you have a landing the car is a great club racer

Thanks Notch,

Funny enough, I've got the FF mini Cooper rally. Yea, maybe I'll save my pennies and go ahead and buy the new chassis.

Thanks for your thoughts,

Mark
