I'm ready to give up on my new Matrix. The engine would not run so I called CEN and they told me to send the engine back and they would replace it. I did, and received a new engine the other day. I put the new one in and guess what? Same problems. The new engine wont run for more than 5 seconds and the pull starter broke after trying to re start it over and over again. I changed the glow plug, the fuel filter and fuel lines hoping that maybe there was an air leak causing it to stall and nothing works. Maybe the problem on the last engine was the carb and they switched it onto the new engine. I hate to have to return it because I spent alot of time setting this thing up replacing the diff grease with silicone diff lube and putting better shock oil in it. All I know is, this is not giving me alot of confidence in this product. Guess I have to call CEN again on Monday.[:@]

Here's a dumb question.. Have you trued to return the carb back to the baseline factory settings? I have found on most engines will start on the base settings. Also double check that your fuel system is getting fuel to the carb....at the same time check fuel system does not have air leaks
hope this helps

I tried that. The carb was at factory settings when I got the engine back from CEN. It will start but only runs for about 5 seconds before it dies. I changed out the lines with new line so if it has an air leak, I don't know where its coming from.

well for one it is not the matrix its the engine so dont say your done with the matrix cause your really done with the engine.2 if you have the money i would just by a good motor.3 your doing somthing wrong cause i never had problems starting A CEN motor your idel is not set right or your trim or you have a fuel delivery problem cause a brand new motor will not give you problems but the carb settings will.

My problem is the diffs are hitting against the rearend housing in a certain spot creating drag. It's brand new and has never been ran. There is a lip on the housing we trimmed down a little bit it seemed to help, should I trim more or could there be another problem, or could they have put the wrong housing on it.
I would greatly appreciate some help on this,
Marti

there should be a shim kit or you can get one from cen or other diff kits. these are little washers that space between the gears to give propper distance between them.

did you have the same problem, if so how many shims did you use? I will check it out and try it and get back to you on the outcome.
Thank you a lot,
