Default Another broken shift lever

What's the deal with the GST and shifting levers? I just turned the truck on and snap there it goes. Is it a servo throw issue? To make things worse CEN sent me $6.99 kit and didn't put the fork in the package. GGGGRRRRRR.

make sure there is a spring and some fuel tubing on the shift lever to relieve some force.

It's got springs but no fuel tubing. I'll be sure to put some on when I put it back together.

Where are you installing the fuel tube? I am just putting mine back together after tearing it down to replace the shifter. I also learned it helps to heat the fork up in hot water, Was rather bummed when the first one snapped and had to order another. Cant complain to much this is the only thing thats ever just BROKE on the truck.

Hey Idahomudder, the fuel tubing is generaly used to replace the 2 springs on either side of the shift lever on the shifter linkage. I recommend cutting the fuel tubing just a bit longer than the springs to give that much more cushion on the shift lever. The tubing allows less of a shock on the lever if a shift from forward to reverse or visa versa was inadvertanly engaged, but it will not excuse a shift before the truck stops. You will still need to completely stop the truck before shifting.

Also adjust the end point stop on your radio so the servo is not pushing or pulling too much on that lever. Easily forgotten adjustment that WILL help keep the lever from breaking..

Hope this helps...Have fun!!

Hey Dogman, do you have a LHS where you can get parts? Here in Phoenix it is almost impossible to find parts. There is a Hobby Town USA in Scottsdale that carries a few but it's very limited. It would be nice to have a LHS that stocks a good variety of parts so I don't have to order everything over the internet.

drosetta, There is a Competition Hobbies right off I-10 here that sells the parts and trucks but they never have anything I need in stock. they will order them for me and it takes 3-4 days to get them. The owner has a bad attitude about ordering things so I dont usually buy from him anymore, besides I have found that I can get better pricing on eBay anyway, So eBay it is!!

If you ever wanna come down for a good bash session let me know I'm always up for some good fun!!

Dogman, I'm up for that. Just got my shift lever fixed, got to checking and it's no wonder it broke. The linkage stops were all out of whack, came that way from the factory. I'm finding they didn't do a real good job of assembling, lots of loose stuff and what not. I guess that's how you learn about your truck, rip it apart and put it back.

BTW your Nemisis looks killer with the Cheyenne's and ATX's.
