something else is wrong and i cant figure out what it is. My gst wont move, at first it wouldnt move in forward but would haul ass in reverse and now it wont move in forward and reverse. I checked the shafts and everythings ok, i pulled the tranny out opened it up and none of the gears are stripped. Put the tranny back in and nothing. I played with the forward and rev. adjuster arm on the top of the tranny and got nothing. I can turn the shafts from underneath the truck and the wheels do spin. Cant someone give me some ideas. THANK YOU.

Well, sounds like you have some kind of drivetrain issue, you might check your differentials and see if they're functioning normally.
If you put the back wheels on the ground and hold up the front wheels, when you spin one of the front wheels does the other wheel spin equally in the opposite direction, same goes for the rear end?
Also if you spin both wheels, does the drive shaft going to the center diff spin normally? If all of that seems ok, then I would suspect maybe the center diff or something in the tranny or possibly the motor itself.. When you try and go does it bog down like it's jammed, or just rev and nothing happens?
I think I've read somewhere that if you don't stop before you switch from forward/reverse you can snap the shifter shaft in the tranny, that might be it but you said everything inside it looked ok.
So yeah check all that good stuff and post back with whatever more info you can, thanks. [8D]

Sounds like your oneway bearing on your third gear has manfunctioned. the fact that it will run fine in reverse but not forward, But I would have to take down my tranny to be sure. The manual is not clear to the path of power in reverse. I will pull out my tranny in the next day or two to check it out and see what I find out for you!!! I wish I was more sure without pulling the tranny but, I need to know, now. Besides everything else thats works in reverse would work in reverse, and I have an old oneway I can test my theory. Give me acouple days and I will have your answer for sure. at the very latest by monday..
