Default GST 7.7 Break in blister

I’ve read about the troubles of breaking in the GST 7.7 engine but this is ridiculous. Already got the blister from pulling on the starter more times than necessary. Done the standard checklist (fuel line, carb settings, glow plug) but the thing won’t start….. Any suggestions to speed up this process? Is there any break in steps I’ve overlooked? Thanks.

how about checking that the glow igniter is fully charged then once it has been charging for atleast 12hrs(just to be sure) pull the glow plug again to check it
What elevation are you??
You might wanna try loosening eht glow plug just a bit and then tightening it once it starts.

You might want to get good pair of leather work gloves

There's not much to keep it from running Keep trying

Good Luck!!!

Glow plug is working...swapped with a new one just to make sure. I'm at 1500m above sea level...compensated with half turn, is that enough? The leather gloves are a good idea. Will get back into it when I regain feeling in my hand. Thanks.

What i did was set my idle a bit higher, then when it came time to start it i held my left hand on the roll bar but stretched my index finger out to where the throttle servo was. I pushed down on the throttle linkage where the spring is right next to the servo to give it a bit of gas. After that it started right up. But gloves are a must, and man i got such a workout trying to get that thing started. I was sweating buckets.

Crack the glow plug to get her started then tighten

open your carb using the controler trim a little at a time

pull fast but short, only 2 pops

that's all I had to do

second tank gave me the blister...third broke it open

do this, just like you would run your truck instead of priming first. put the glow igniter on and prime it, it should want to start then pull your finger off the exaust port and try to start it. that is a sure method of it starting. these engines most of the time is a poor prime but if you do it this way you will know when its time to start the motor

Thanks for the advice. Will try again this weekend. Hopefully, the gloves will help.

I forgot about that.

I put my finger on the port and give 2-4 pulls till fuel gets to the carb then put on the glow starter and pull
