I have been researching all of the entry level vehicles for the last few weeks, reading reviews and watching vids. I have settled on buying one of CEN's trucks, but I am a little confused as to which one will work best for me. I live on 2 1/2 acres of thin field grass, which I think will turn into dirt after a few runs. So I think I will probably have my own make shift track to do laps on. I also like the sound of building some nice big jumps to get some major air on. This is were I get confused. I like the sounds of the Magnum because it sounds like a good blend between a stadium truck and a monster truck, but when watching the video, it seems to perform more like a monster truck. The performance of the Premier 4 looks awesome, but I am a little concerned about the jumping with this one. It seems like if the suspension on the magnum was a lot stiffer it may do both tasks well, but I don't know. And last but not least, the MG16 looks like one bad *** machine! I would have never considered this until I watched the video from the review. It looks like a lot of power for such a small truck. I'm just not sure if it would be the best choice for an all around back yard basher. Please chime in if anyone owns any of these trucks. I haven't seen anything about the Premier 4 except the review. Thanks in advance.

I personally think out of those, the premier. I used the premier on my track. It jumps ok. The stock tires can be upgraded to a nice proline and it will perform well. Just have to look into getting the metal upgraded gears for both of them. They are pricey but well worth it. Just my opinion.

Hey, I wrote the review of the MG16 and I must say your right, it has some serious jewels! When it hits it's little power band, it rockets off pretty quickly. I would definately suggest it.

How well does the MG16 jump? And it looks like it corners fine if you do a power slide. It didn't seem to be so mushy like the Magnum. Are the gears one of the first things to go bad?

It stays suprisingly level in the air. Youll need to thicken the shock oil and change to the 2 hole pistons to do BIG jumps w/o bottoming out but that can be said for any truck. The gears have not caused me any problems.

webdr,
I saw in a different thread that you have a MT2. That was my original pick to get before I came across CEN Racing. I wasn't finding any info on the forums about the MT2, so I assumed that maybe it wasn't a good choice. What are your thoughts between the MT2 and the Premeir 4. Also, it sounds like you think I might be happy with the MG16 as my first and only truck?

I'm not sure which one you are referring to. The CEN is the Premier 4 and the HPI is the MT2. Which one do you say not to get and what are your reasons?

The MT2 3.0 RTR is a FUN truck. It literally caught me off guard with how fun it is. I truely believed it would get thrown in the mix with all the other RTR mid-level trucks that go through more repair sessions than tanks of fuel. I was wrong...it takes a beating and keeps running. Its also pretty darn quick with the .18. I found myself doing high speed passes in the street just as fun as off roading.
The MG16 is also alot of fun, but some have complained about the engine, the nx15, acting up. Ive had 3 CEns with the NX15 and one of them I could not get running well to save me. The MG16 engine has performed flawlessly though and its a hoot to drive.
Either of the two trucks will bring you enjoyment so its up to you as to which one you want. Good luck!

webdr,
Thanks so much for your input. Having so many options available to me is driving me crazy. I can't stop thinking about all of the different options and which would work best. The decision would be simple if I could buy 2 or 3 right away.

IMO get yourself a Buggy. They are much stronger than 1/10th stadium trucks and will be easier to maintain, fly better, handle better, just do everything better...

What ever you go with just make sure you can get parts. I personally hate waiting for weeks for parts on what i call off brand due to the 3 lhs not carring parts.
Now on the MG16, i have one and like it alot. I did change the metal bushings on the knuckles and had CBP make me a rx pack to get away from the 4AA rx set up. Works much better. I want to swap pipes but there is not any thing that would really fit easily so other upgrades are not really an option right now.
It is a very durable little truck. I thas taken a few tumbles and cart wheels and lands on the tires and keeps going.
