Default How do I adjust the shift points on my CT5?

I have been taking my CT5 out to huge parking lots to drive it and last weekend I wasn't getting anywhere near the normal top end. Probably only 55 MPH. I didn't know what it was but I was thinking that maybe the shift point is set way too late. It takes about 5 seconds until it shifts. Does this sound like it's shifting too late? How can I make it shift earlier?

Thanks.

Hi and thanks for the thread! If you have a brand new model- no need to worry- if you are runnin your engine in still.. chance are the motor is not running warm enough yet- make sure your engine is at 220F before changing the shift point... at that point if your still dont detect a shift gradually back out the adjustment screw about an 1/8th turn at a time.

It isn't old. It has about 1.25 gallons on it. It was shifting fine before. Where is the adjustment?

The shift adjust is located in the second gear shroud.... on the smaller of the two spur gears you will find a circular hole... rotate the cars wheels till you find the screw that appears to be at an angle... this is the screw you would need to adjust....
hope this info helps.. refer to step 5-5 on page 12 for a detailed graphic in your manual.
