Default Default position for 2nd and 3rd gear adjustment screws

Can anyone out there suggest a good starting point for the 2nd and 3rd gear adjustment scews? I called CEN and the tech said that 2nd should be 2.5 turns out from bottom and 3rd should be 3.5. This cant be right because this causes the screws to bind on the housing. I'm hoping to revert the shift points without pulling the tranny. Thanks...

Are you refering to full turns or 1/8 turns? If you are refering to full turns, I don't think that is correct. The scews are binding on the housing at around 3 full turns.

no need to apologize. I feel like at one time the CEN shift adjustment document had the default positions. however it currently does not. maybe CEN can shed some light.

You must be talking about the set screws
and not the adjustment screws

The set screws need to be done with the gearbox stripped down
the adjustment screws are the ones that are set at an angle not the screws facing straight out

The adjustment for second gear is 5 full turns out
Third gear is 7 to 7.5 full turns out

hope this helps

Now I get it. I'm an idiot. Now that I have totally screwed up the set screws, Any suggestions for getting them back to where they need to be with out pulling the tranny and clutch?

Look into the GST 3rd gear clutch mod, might find some help there
