Cen Matrix RTR. Basically an FRE at this point.
Go 3 port sport motor. 1/2 to 3/4 gallon old.
13 Tooth bell.
Diffs: 5-7-5
Carbon shoes, will be aluminum tomorrow.
I have been losing power and hearing a weird ringing noise under power. I thought it was my tune. Today it goit extreme so I pulled into the pits. When I did I saw something very strange. Under power the clutch is engaging, the clutch bell is pinning. The main spur is spinning hence getting power from the pinion but the power is not getting to the wheels at all. The spur is spinnig almost free, transferring very little of the engine power to the wheels. and if I hold the buggy on the ground it isnt getting power. WHAT IS THIS? My gut is something wrong with the center diff but before I tear it apart can anyone tell me what may be happening and lead me in the right direction?
THANKS!!!

Check the driveshafts from the center and the front and rear. My feeling is that the CVDs have worn out, and maybe that could be your loss of power. If not that, then maybe it could be something in your diff, but CEN diff gears last forever, so I don't think that could be it. What could have happened in the diff is that the pin that connects the gear to the outdrive is worn, or gone.
There's a lot to check so get back to us.

Hi there thanks for the quick respons. Thes forums help me a lot cuz I pretty much race against monster trucks. I have a couple of stupid ?'s as I have rebuilt this buggy a few times but can you tell me...
What exactly is a CVD?
Which part is the outdrive?
Which PIN are you talking about?
I am going to start with the obvious things but I think it will be something deeper...
THANKS Chrobar! You have always been a lot of help...
